La Velle E. Neal of the Minnesota Tribune reported<\/a> the Twins\u2019 interest in Servais on Monday, while\u00a0MLB Network insider and New York Post columnist Jon Heyman added<\/a> that Servais is a candidate for the O\u2019s in his own report.<\/p>\n Servais is the second-winningest manager in Mariners history, leading Seattle to a 680-642 record over nine seasons with the team. He was skipper when the Mariners broke a 21-year playoff drought by winning the third wild card from the American League to the postseason in 2022.<\/p>\n The Mariners replaced Servais with current manager Dan Wilson on Aug. 22, 2024 after Seattle fell to a 64-64 record and out of first place in the AL West by losing eight games during a nine-game stretch.<\/p>\n Servais, 58, was twice a finalist for AL Manager of the Year while with the Mariners. He spent this season as a special assistant for the San Diego Padres, who are currently looking to fill a managerial void of their own following the retirement of Mike Shildt.<\/p>\n The Minnesota vacancy may be a geographical fit for Servais, who hails from one state over in Wisconsin. The Twins announced Rocco Baldelli would not return as manager after they finished fourth in the AL Central with a 70-92 record. Minnesota last made the playoffs in 2023 when they won the AL Central.<\/p>\n The Twins\u2019 other candidates include Vance Wilson, Nick Punto, Derek Shelton, James Rowson and Ram\u00f3n V\u00e1zquez, per MLB Trade Rumors<\/a>.<\/p>\n Baltimore, which parted ways with Brandon Hyde in May, finished last in the AL East with a 75-87 record a year after making the postseason in 2024 as the AL\u2019s first wild card. The O\u2019s have shown interest publicly in their interim manager Tony Mansolino, former Mets manager Luis Rojas and legendary slugger Albert Pujols, per MLB Trade Rumors<\/a>.<\/p>\n There are currently seven manager openings in MLB, with a pair of AL West teams \u2013 the Texas Rangers (Skip Schumaker) and Los Angeles Angels (Kurt Suzuki) \u2013 having already settled on new skippers.<\/p>\n The Mariners returned to the playoffs for the first time in 2022 and won their first AL West title since 2001 in their first full season after switching from Servais to Wilson at manager.
