Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists where we shine a light on fights from across the globe that may have been overlooked in these hectic times where it seems like there\u2019s an MMA show every other day.<\/p>\n
You know what I was just thinking the other day? It\u2019s been too long since we saw a fighter lose by – as it\u2019s officially written in the rules – \u201cTKO due to medical stoppage.\u201d I know you all had the same thought.<\/p>\n

Give them a follow and chip in on Patreon<\/a> if you can.)<\/p>\n Chris Quiroz vs. Jahir Ramos<\/p>\n Not to overanalyze this regrettable moment, but of all the MMA pukings I\u2019ve seen in my day (which is far, far too many) this has to be the closest I\u2019ve come to seeing a fighter barf on his opponent.<\/p>\n Credit to Jahir Ramos to holding it in, but if he\u2019d been stuck in that position for a few seconds longer, that could have gone so much worse.<\/p>\n It\u2019s no mystery what caused Ramos to lose his lunch here as Chris Quiroz caught him clean with five toes to the tummy. You can tell Ramos immediately knows something was wrong as he freezes up before turning slightly away from his opponent. Quiroz then ducks in for a takedown, driving his shoulder into Ramos\u2019 midsection, and we see Ramos\u2019 cheeks puff up in threatening fashion.<\/p>\n And then: BLAAAAAAAAGGGGH<\/p>\n I\u2019m not sure Ramos was done either, because he makes a hasty exit from the cage, likely to continue his business elsewhere.<\/p>\n Quiroz, a 29-year-old bantamweight prospect, improved to 4-1 with a knockout win he likely won\u2019t ever forget. As for Ramos (2-2), this might seem bad now, but hey, Paddy Pimblett<\/a> once puked his guts out<\/a> after one of the more lackluster efforts of his pre-fight UFC career, and he might be fighting Ilia Topuria<\/a> for the lightweight title next.<\/p>\n If you can stomach more action from Professional Extreme Fights 47, a free replay of the event is available on YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n Ullubiy Amirzhanov vs. Ravshan Boymirzoev UAE Warriors held a pair of events in Abu Dhabi this week (both available on UFC Fight Pass<\/a>) to capitalize on the UFC\u2019s return to the nation\u2019s capital and it featured even more finishes where I feared a fighter might vomit (they don\u2019t, proceed freely).<\/p>\n Ullubiy Amirzhanov caught Ravshan Boymirzoev with a body kick that doubled him over and fortunately, the referee was quick to step in for the save there.<\/p>\n Not so fortunate was Imram Magaramov, whose insides were turned into a fine powder by Abdurakhman Nasrutdinov\u2019s relentless ground-and-pound.<\/p>\n I don\u2019t know if I\u2019ve ever seen someone on their back knocked stiff like that by body shots.<\/p>\n This next clip isn\u2019t strictly a body shot KO, it\u2019s actually worse because former UFC fighter Caio Machado<\/a> had to throw in a flying knee for good measure.<\/p>\n Caio Machado delivers a first-round KO\/TKO that fans won\u2019t forget! Here\u2019s Season 32 contestant Omran Chaaban doing his own version of tree-chopping as he destroyed Wellington Madeira with leg kicks.<\/p>\n Chaaban (9-1) lost to eventual TUF 32 winner Ryan Loder<\/a> in the semifinals of that season\u2019s middleweight tournament, but he\u2019s 3-0 since then after dropping back down to 170 pounds and is almost guaranteed to get another crack at the UFC at some point.<\/p>\n Gerardo Correa vs. Carlos Landeros<\/p>\n Given all the brutality we\u2019ve reviewed so far, this head kick from Gerardo Correa seems quaint in comparison.<\/p>\n From Jasaji Fighting League 53 (free replay available on YouTube<\/a>):<\/p>\n That\u2019s a cute flick of a kick. Carlos Landeros probably doesn\u2019t feel the same way as the strike made him go Full Matua as soon as it landed and that\u2019s never good.<\/p>\n Alibi Idris vs. Roybert Echeverria<\/p>\n Oh, you thought the TUF talk was done? NEVER.<\/p>\n This week\u2019s TUF 33 episode featured the first flyweight semifinal bout<\/a> between Kazakhstan\u2019s Alibi Idris and Mexico\u2019s Robert Echeverria (previously featured in Missed Fists for his own spectacular work<\/a>) and Idris advanced with a sweet jumping knee knockout.<\/p>\n Perfect timing on that finish of yet another solid fight this season.
