It is weird to think that we are nearly halfway through the 2025 NFL regular season. The longer we get into the year, the tougher that NFL Survivor pools will become.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Given the format of picking one team per week to win, but not being able to repeat teams, the list of possible teams will shrink as the year goes on, and likely force you to back a matchup you may not like.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Survivor leagues are different than typical fantasy football leagues. At the surface level, you pick one team each week, and it is simple:<\/p>\n
Your goal is to pick one winner each week of the season correctly. If you pick correctly and your chosen team wins, you are safe.If your chosen team loses, you are either outright eliminated\u00a0or you have a significant disadvantage the rest of the season, depending on the platform.\u00a0To make the contest even trickier, once you use a team, you cannot select them again. So, whatever team you used for your survivor pool in Week 1, Week 2, and all preceding weeks will eventually be off limits for\u00a0the rest of the year. That makes each selection not only important for that week, but you have to look forward and see if that team will have a better matchup in the future that you’re okay missing out on.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the first matchup in Tennessee, Indianapolis cruised to a 41-20 win. The Titans will be playing their second game after firing former head coach Brian Callahan. Tennessee lost to the New England Patriots<\/a> 31-13 in Week 7, still unable to mount much offense and unable to stop teams on defense.\u00a0<\/p>\n Indianapolis has been the biggest positive surprise of the season. The Colts should stay hot at home and cruise to another divisional win over the Titans.\u00a0<\/p>\n MORE: Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings<\/p>\n Week 8 Survivor Sleeper TeamsNew England Patriots vs. Cleveland Browns<\/p>\n The Patriots were our choice last week and beat the Titans. If you didn’t use them then, New England has another favorable matchup in Week 8. The Cleveland Browns<\/a> are struggling overall this season, but are coming off a dominant 31-6 win over the Miami Dolphins<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n Running back Quinshon Judkins had his breakout game, but the Patriots’ defense seems better equipped to counter the Browns’ offense. If they can slow down Judkins, New England shouldn’t have any problem handling rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel and picking up its sixth win of the season.\u00a0<\/p>\n Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants<\/p>\n The Eagles<\/a> head into Week 8 with two losses on the season. One of the losses came to New York on Thursday night in Week 6. Philadelphia lost 34-17 and the loss likely still stings. The Eagles were able to bounce back with a 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings<\/a> in Week 7, and now return home for the first time since Week 5.\u00a0<\/p>\n Even though Philadelphia doesn’t look as good as they did for their Super Bowl win last season, the Eagles should be able to get their revenge on the Giants<\/a> in Week 8.<\/p>\n MORE NFL WEEK 8:<\/p>\n Week 8 chalk pick to fade or saveTampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints<\/p>\n Tampa Bay is coming off a 24-9 loss to the Detroit Lions<\/a>. The Buccaneers should be able to bounce back against the New Orleans Saints<\/a> in Week 8, but they will be on the road. With injuries to some important pass catchers, like Mike Evans, save the Buccaneers for a Week 14 rematch against the Saints when Tampa Bay will be at home.\u00a0<\/p>\n It is risky saving teams for late in the season because you have to get there, but if we can go perfect until then, the Buccaneers should be a great option in Week 14.\u00a0<\/p>\n
