Starting quarterback Trevor Harris is the Saskatchewan Roughriders\u2019 nomination for most-outstanding player at the 2025 CFL Awards.<\/p>\n
Harris, 39, joined the Riders in 2023 and was an integral part of the team\u2019s first-place finish at the end of the 2025 regular season. He set a new team record for completion percentage last year with 72.4 per cent, and the team said he\u2019s on place to top that in 2025. Harris was the team\u2019s top-rated offensive player five times this season, the Riders said, according to Pro Football Focus.<\/p>\n

This is the fourth time Harris has been nominated for the award, having previously been selected during his time in Toronto, Ottawa and Edmonton.<\/p>\n
Joining Harris on the ballot will be middle linebacker Jameer Thurman, who the Riders nominated as their most-outstanding defensive player. With 85 defensive tackles this season, Thurman is fourth in the league, but he\u2019s added three interceptions, three sacks and a forced fumble, helping the Riders allow the fewest points of any team in the league.<\/p>\n
Saskatchewan\u2019s nominee for the most-outstanding Canadian award is A.J. Allen, who the Roughriders said \u201cemerged as a force as the team\u2019s starting weak-side linebacker after being the CFL\u2019s co-leader in special teams tackles (22) last season.\u201d This year, Allen has made 88 tackles. His third interception of the season, in a home game against Toronto on Oct. 10, effectively secured first place for the Riders by securing a 27-19 victory.<\/p>\n
Right tackle Jermarcus Hardrick picked up the nomination for most-outstanding offensive lineman, the second time he\u2019s earned the nomination during his time in the CFL.<\/p>\n
\u201cHardrick is an integral component of a team that has allowed the third-fewest sacks in the league (25),\u201d the Roughriders said in a statement.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe and his cohorts on the offensive line have also helped A.J. Ouellette enjoy a banner season that includes 1,179 rushing yards and a team-leading nine touchdowns.\u201d<\/p>\n
Left tackle Payton Collins is the Roughriders\u2019 nominee for most-outstanding rookie. After making a splash at training camp, Collins started 11 regular-season games for the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cCollins has been among the three highest-graded offensive linemen four of the seven weeks Saskatchewan\u2019s front five has received the top grade from Pro Football Focus,\u201d the Riders noted.<\/p>\n
Linebacker Nick Wiebe picked up the team\u2019s nomination for most-outstanding special-teams player. The former U of S Huskies player has 20 tackles of 16 games this season, tying for fourth in the league. He\u2019s managed at least one tackle in each game he played this season, and is only the fourth player the team has nominated for the award who is not a kicker or a returner.<\/p>\n
The nominees were selected by representatives from Football Reporters of Canada in each CFL city, along with head coach Corey Mace. Harris and Allen were both unanimous selections, the team noted.<\/p>\n
The West Division nominees will be announced at the end of the month, and the league\u2019s award winners will be chosen during the Grey Cup Festival in Winnipeg on Nov. 23.<\/p>\n
The Riders will host the B.C. Lions at Mosaic Stadium for the CFL\u2019s Western Final on Nov. 8.
