One suspect has been arrested, and two more are wanted after an exchange of gunfire left a woman seriously injured in Scarborough last month.<\/a><\/p>\n

It happened in the area of Fred Bland Crescent and McCowan Road, north of Eglinton Avenue East, on the evening of Sept. 17.<\/p>\n

Toronto police said<\/a> a man and a woman met outside and soon noticed two unidentified individuals standing on the corner.<\/p>\n

The individuals allegedly opened fire on both of them and fled. Police said the man pursued them and allegedly returned fire.<\/p>\n

The woman was later taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.<\/p>\n

As part of the investigation, members of the Gun and Gang Task Force searched a home near McCowan Road and Trudelle Street and found a loaded semi-automatic handgun as well as several rounds of ammunition, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers then arrested 20-year-old Trayemer Stephenson of Toronto. He has been charged with possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, discharging a firearm with intent, possession of a firearm without holding a licence and two counts of possession of a loaded prohibited\/restricted firearm.<\/p>\n

Police said they do not have descriptions of the two outstanding suspects at this time.<\/p>\n
