{"id":234728,"date":"2025-10-23T15:42:14","date_gmt":"2025-10-23T15:42:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/234728\/"},"modified":"2025-10-23T15:42:14","modified_gmt":"2025-10-23T15:42:14","slug":"air-canada-to-launch-u-s-flights-from-billy-bishop-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/234728\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Canada to launch U.S. flights from Billy Bishop Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Air Canada is expanding service to Toronto\u2019s Billy Bishop Airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">On Thursday, the airline announced it is introducing daily flights to New York, Boston, Washington, and Chicago from the Toronto Island airport starting spring 2026.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis is our most significant expansion at Toronto Island since Air Canada first served the airport 35 years ago,\u201d Mark Galardo, Air Canada\u2019s executive vice president, said in a news release on Thursday. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThe new transborder routes will especially benefit our loyal customers and business travellers by creating frequent and easy connections between the heart of Canada\u2019s financial capital and the major markets of New York, Boston, Washington and Chicago.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The airline said the new launch will include non-stop return service four-times-daily to New York\u2019s LaGuardia Airport, three-times-daily to Boston Logan International Airport, twice-daily to Chicago O\u2019Hare International Airport, and daily to Washington Dulles International Airport.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" alt=\"\" class=\"c-image\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/U4FCQQ6HQBC3DO4XHN3PSBAODE.jpg\"  width=\"800\" height=\"450\"\/>air canada Air Canada announced expansion at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport with new transborder routes to four major U.S. cities. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWe are delighted to welcome Air Canada\u2019s expanded routes at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport \u2013 a milestone that underscores our shared commitment to enhancing connectivity, convenience, and choice for travellers,\u201d said RJ Steenstra, president and CEO of PortsToronto, which owns and operatesthe Island airport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The airline also announced that it would increase daily return flights from Toronto to Montreal and Ottawa, which are considered Canada\u2019s most heavily travelled corridors for business traffic, Galardo said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Flights from Montr\u00e9al will increase to nine from eight, and to six from four from Ottawa.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cThis announcement is excellent news for Canadian travellers.
