Clement won the Fielding Bible Multi-Position Award on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Fielding Bible selects a team of the best defenders at each position across MLB.<\/p>\n
Clement emerged as one of the Blue Jays’ primary defensive contributors in 2025, thanks to his ability to perform well at multiple spots in the infield.<\/p>\n
The 29-year-old led MLB with 22 defensive runs saved (DRS) after spending time at first, second and third base, as well as shortstop.<\/p>\n
Most of his time, however, was spent at third and second, where he collected 11 and 10 DRS, respectively. In doing so, Clement became just the second player to record more than 10 DRS at multiple positions, joining Ryan McMahon of the 2021 Colorado Rockies.<\/p>\n
Clement was nominated for two Rawlings Gold Glove Awards earlier this month \u2014 at third base and utility. Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Ty France, Andr\u00e9s Gim\u00e9nez and Alejandro Kirk were the other Blue Jays among the finalists at their respective positions.<\/p>\n
It is the second straight year that a Blue Jay has won the Fielding Bible Multi-Position Award after Daulton Varsho took home the honour in 2024.<\/p>\n
Varsho was also named the Fielding Bible’s defensive player of the year last season.<\/p>\n
