All rights reserved.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced a sell-out for their regular-season finale against the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday, making franchise history in the process.

The Bombers have now sold out Princess Auto Stadium for all nine home games this season — a feat which has never occurred in the 95 years since the club was founded. Their consecutive sellout streak currently sits at 14 games, dating back to August 1 of last year.

“Thank you, Bomber fans, for 14 straight sellouts. Your passion, loyalty, and energy make Princess Auto Stadium the best atmosphere in Canadian sports,” president and CEO Wade Miller said in a statement. “Together, we’ve made Blue Bomber history by selling out the entire regular season.”

Winnipeg is set to lead the CFL in attendance for the fourth consecutive season and has seen a steady uptick over that stretch. It began in 2022 with an average crowd of 28,641, followed by 30,449 in 2023. They drew 31,196 per game last season and will boast a capacity average of 32,343 in 2025.

Since 2018, the Bombers have hosted crowds of over 30,000 a whopping 33 times. The next closest team, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, have done so on just 21 occasions. Four CFL teams — Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton and Toronto — have stadiums incapable of holding that many people.

The attendance surge in Winnipeg has been fueled by the team’s unprecedented on-field success, as they’ve advanced to five straight Grey Cup games. This year has been their lowest point since winning back-to-back titles in 2019 and 2021, but the Bombers have still secured a playoff spot. It remains to be seen how they will be seeded.

The Blue Bombers can finish no higher than third place in the West Division standings and no lower than fourth, which would see them cross over to the East Division as the third seed. Either way, they won’t play at home again unless they reach the 112th Grey Cup, which is slated for Sunday, November 16 at Princess Auto Stadium.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (9-8) will host the Montreal Alouettes (10-7) on Saturday, October 25 with kickoff slated for 3:00 p.m. EDT. The Alouettes are coming off back-to-back wins over the Ottawa Redblacks, while the Blue Bombers got an ugly win over the depleted Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The weather forecast in Winnipeg calls for a high of 16 degrees with sunny conditions. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS, and CTV in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on TSN 690 in Montreal and 680 CJOB in Winnipeg.

Photo: Neil Noonan/3DownNation. All rights reserved.
