Frankie Muniz is celebrating his TV family\u2019s reunion in the upcoming Malcolm in the Middle reboot<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The actor and racing driver shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the set of the revival, alongside his onscreen brothers Justin Berfield and Christopher Masterson (aka Malcolm\u2019s older brothers, Reese and Francis).<\/p>\n

\u201cI was told not to post this yet, but then I remembered the theme song,\u201d Muniz wrote. \u201cI\u2019m just too excited for y\u2019all to see the new episodes and I miss my brothers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The caption served as a slight reference to the original Malcolm in the Middle theme song, entitled \u201cBoss Of Me\u201d from They Might Be Giants, which includes the recurring lyric, \u201cYou\u2019re not the boss of me now!\u201d<\/p>\n

When news of the reboot, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life\u2019s Still Unfair, was announced last December, it was further revealed that\u00a0 Bryan Cranston<\/a> and Jane Kaczmarek<\/a>, who portrayed Muniz\u2019s parents in the series, were returning to reprise their roles. Berfield and Masteron later signed on<\/a> to take part in the four-episode Disney+ series, while Kiana Madeira joins to portray Malcolm\u2019s (Muniz) girlfriend.<\/p>\n

Vaughan Murrae, Keeley Karsten and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark are also featured in the cast, with the latter actor notably taking over the role of younger brother Dewey, whom Erik Per Sullivan originated.<\/p>\n

Cranston recently explained why Sullivan wasn\u2019t included<\/a> in the revival cast list. \u201dI talked to Erik and I said, \u2018Hey, we got the show! It\u2019s gonna come back.\u2019 He goes, \u2018Oh, that\u2019s fantastic!\u2019 And I go, \u2018Yeah, so we\u2019re looking forward to having you back.\u2019 He goes, \u2018Oh, no, no, I don\u2019t want to do it. But it\u2019s fantastic that you are,\u2019\u201d Cranston said during a June appearance on the Fly on the Wall podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s actually going to Harvard,\u201d he added of Sullivan. \u201cHe\u2019s really, really smart, and I think he\u2019s getting his master\u2019s at Harvard right now. He said, \u2018Oh God, no, I haven\u2019t acted since I was nine or something. So I\u2019m not into it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Malcolm in the Middle ran from 2000-2006, and picked up a total of seven Emmys. While reflecting on what filming the revival meant<\/a> to him, the show\u2019s star Muniz said he \u201cloved\u201d the experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not exaggerating when I say filming this reboot, like I loved it so much, way more than I ever thought I could have,\u201d he said during a September podcast appearance. \u201cI think people will be surprised, in a sense, where everybody is and the story. But it\u2019s only four episodes\u2026 It\u2019s hard to fit in 20 years of stuff into four 30-minute episodes, right? But I think people are going to be very happy with what they came up with.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linwood Boomer, the creator of Malcolm in the Middle, is also returning as writer and executive producer. Cranston will also serve as an EP alongside Tracy Katsky of KatCo, Gail Berman, director Ken Kwapis and New Regency\u2019s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann. Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye are co-executive producing.<\/p>\n
