Isack Hadjar admits that the prospect of joining Max Verstappen at Red Bull for the 2026 season “really excites me” as speculation grows about where he will be racing next year.<\/p>\n
The Frenchman has impressed in his maiden Formula 1 campaign, which has included eight points finishes for Racing Bulls<\/a> \u2013 the highlight of which was a podium in Zandvoort<\/a>.<\/p>\n With Liam Lawson<\/a> replaced at Red Bull<\/a> after just two races and Yuki Tsunoda<\/a> coming under increasing pressure after struggling to consistently score points, Hadjar<\/a> has become a likely candidate to join the senior team.<\/p>\n Ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix this weekend, Hadjar revealed that the prospect of being team mates with Verstappen would be “frightening” but a challenge he would relish.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s the dream. That\u2019s why I\u2019m in Formula 1. It\u2019s not just to be there and drive, make money, go home,” said Hadjar.<\/p>\n “I\u2019m not here for that, I\u2019m here to fight against the best and show myself what I can do. When you have Max as a team mate, I don\u2019t think there\u2019s a better reference.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s definitely a bit frightening, but at the same time, it really excites me to be one day his team mate.\u201d<\/p>\n Despite an impressive first season in F1, Hadjar has struggled recently and failed to score points in either of the last two races in Singapore and Austin.<\/p>\n The 20-year-old admits that he is pushing for a strong end to the season but that one result over the remaining five Grands Prix was unlikely to change the opinion of Red Bull senior management.<\/p>\n \u201cIf there is one more weekend to make the difference, then I need to be performing well,” he said.<\/p>\n “Honestly, I\u2019ve no regrets this year on what I\u2019ve done, and I don\u2019t think one weekend is going to change the decision, except if I end up on the podium or win the race.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m happy with my season.
