According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, the angle was done because Rollins suffered an injury at <a href=\"https:\/\/nodq.com\/news\/results-of-cody-rhodes-vs-seth-rollins-at-wwe-crown-jewel-2025\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">the Crown Jewel PLE<\/a>. Prior to the situation with Rollins, WWE was reportedly planning to have the following participants in the men\u2019s War Games match: Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Jacob Fatu, Jey Uso, and either Jimmy Uso or LA Knight vs. Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, Brock Lesnar, and Austin Theory.<\/p>\n<p>Fatu\u2019s status for the match is unclear, as he has been written off television <a href=\"https:\/\/nodq.com\/news\/update-on-jacob-fatus-status-with-wwe-following-injury-angle-from-smackdown\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">due to a dental procedure<\/a>. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following regarding to the WarGames match\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince many have asked, as of press time, the men\u2019s WarGames match was still a Punk &amp; Reigns team against The Vision-led team.
