As President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a> continues to feud with the entertainment industry, of which he was once a part, speculations have emerged that another fan-favorite show<\/a> is being slashed.<\/p>\n

ABC Network’s “The View<\/a>” has found itself in dispute with the Trump administration, with a White House spokesperson suggesting the long-time talk show could be coming to an end.<\/p>\n

During a July 23 episode, co-host\u00a0Joy Behar<\/a>\u00a0remarked that Trump is jealous of former President\u00a0Barack Obama<\/a>\u00a0because \u201cObama is everything that he is not.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added that, unlike Trump, Obama is \u201ctrim, smart, handsome, happily married, and can sing\u00a0Al Green<\/a>\u2019s song \u2018Let\u2019s Stay Together\u2019 better than Al Green. And Trump cannot stand it.”<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s driving him crazy,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, CBS\u00a0announced the cancellation of the late-night comedy \u201cThe Late Show with Stephen Colbert\u201d<\/a>\u00a0after 33 years, a decision Trump celebrated on social media.<\/p>\n

White House responds<\/p>\n

White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers responded to Behar’s comments by referring to the comedian as \u201can irrelevant loser suffering from a severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s no surprise that The View\u2019s ratings hit an all-time low last year. She should self-reflect on her own jealousy of\u00a0President Trump<\/a>\u2019s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air,\u201d Rogers said in a statement.<\/p>\n

‘I\u2019m allowed to say that, right?’<\/p>\n

The following day, Thursday, July 24, Behar revealed the daytime talk show was getting ready to go on summer break.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this,\u201d Behar, 82, announced at the top of the program before looking off-camera and asking colleagues, \u201cI\u2019m allowed to say that, right?\u201d<\/p>\n

While co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin joked, “Too late now,” Joy continued, saying: “Before we go, I wanted to tell people that the tide is turning…the tide is turning, and things are changing. I mean, the ultimate irony would be that Rupert Murdoch will take him down.”<\/p>\n

Is ‘The View’ being cancelled?<\/p>\n

ABC Network declined to comment on the exchange. Behar’s manager, Bill Stankey, said, \u201cOn behalf of me\u2026\u2026..Release the\u00a0Epstein files<\/a>\u201d when asked for a comment.<\/p>\n

In May, Attorney General\u00a0Pam Bondi<\/a>\u00a0reportedly told Trump that his name appears several times throughout the criminal case files on the late financier and convicted sex offender Epstein, according to CNN<\/a> and the Wall Street Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg, in the July 24 episode,<\/a> announced the show is going on a break and will return in September 2025 for the new season.<\/p>\n

“Here’s what’s going on,” Goldberg said. “We will see you all tomorrow (July 25) for another new show, and we’ll be back for our new season in September.”<\/p>\n

“The View” takes about a month-long break in August every summer, and it appears the “hiatus” Behar was referring to was not unusual for the show, which just wrapped up its 28th season.<\/p>\n

How did this start?<\/p>\n

The latest tension between the White House and \u201cThe View\u201d began after an Oval Office meeting with Philippines President\u00a0Ferdinand Marcos Jr<\/a> on July 22, when Trump accused Obama of treason.<\/p>\n

Later that day, Obama addressed a July 18 report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence that claimed the former president \u201cmanufactured and politicized intelligence” to undermine Trump\u2019s presidential victory over former Secretary of State\u00a0Hillary Clinton<\/a>\u00a0in 2016.<\/p>\n

Obama dismissed the allegations against him, calling them the typical \u201cnonsense and misinformation\u201d emerging from the Trump administration. He noted the U.S. intelligence community\u2019s conclusion that Russia tried to influence the 2016 election.<\/p>\n

On the next morning\u2019s episode of \u201cThe View,\u201d Behar defended Obama with a sly remark about Trump and the overrunning of the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cFirst of all, who tried to overthrow the government on Jan. 6? Who was that again? That was not Obama,\u201d she quipped.<\/p>\n
