Canucks GM Patrik Allvin provides injury updates on Chytil, Blueger, Lekkerim\u00e4ki, and Forbort<\/p>\n
After the Vancouver Canucks<\/a> acquired Lukas Reichel from the Chicago Blackhawks<\/a> in exchange for a 2027 fourth-round pick, General Manager Patrik Allvin met with media to discuss the transaction, but also provided updates on the injuries of forwards Filip Chytil, Teddy Blueger, Jonathan Lekkerim\u00e4ki and defenceman Derek Forbort.Chytil was injured in the final minute against the Washington Capitals on Sunday after absorbing a late hit from Tom Wilson<\/a>. He was helped to the bench with what appeared to be a head injury:<\/p>\n \u201cObviously, [we\u2019re going] through the protocols here. He\u2019s been home [in Vancouver]. He left with our doctor from Washington on Monday, so he\u2019s making progress, but obviously [has] not cleared. You\u2019ve gotta go through all the stages here [with] where he is, but it\u2019s been some encouraging progress here.\u201d<\/p>\n Blueger was injured later in the game against the Capitals. Allvin gave an update on Blueger, while also stating that this was a new injury, separate from the injury that kept him out of the first four games of the season:<\/p>\n \u201cYeah, I got an update here from our doctor earlier this morning. I would have Teddy as more week-to-week. I would imagine more towards two weeks. But it was an intriguing update on it here this morning.\u201d<\/p>\n Lekkerim\u00e4ki also left that game in the first period, with Allvin giving the Swede a two-to-three week timeline. But Forbort suffered a setback that will keep him out a while longer:<\/p>\n \u201cForbort had a little bit of a setback here. So, I would say he\u2019s week-to-week. Probably the problem here is that, you know, with a condensed schedule, it\u2019s so hard to get the practice time in. So, for some of those guys that are injured, just finding the rhythm and finding the ice time, it\u2019s been a challenge for us up to this point.
