\u2018SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE\u2019 FEATURE FILM ARRIVES TODAY IN THEATERS EVERYWHERE<\/p>\n

The sonic world of Bruce Springsteen\u2019s \u201cNebraska\u201d has been given more context and depth than ever before, with today\u2019s arrival of the five-disc box set \u201cNebraska \u201982: Expanded Edition.\u201d Featuring a trove of never-heard and previously-undiscovered recordings, the collection includes The E Street Band\u2019s fabled \u201cElectric Nebraska\u201d sessions, solo outtakes from the era, a newly-shot performance film of \u201cNebraska\u201d and a 2025 remaster of the original album. \u201cIt\u2019s radically different from anything I\u2019d remembered,\u201d said Springsteen. \u201cI think the box set is going to be a real surprise \u2026 because it surprised me. It\u2019ll be fun for the fans to get a chance to hear it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Springsteen also recently discussed \u201cNebraska\u201d with Jeremy Allen White \u2014 who portrays him in the just-released feature film \u201cSpringsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere\u201d \u2014 on Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a>, ABC News with George Stephanopoulos<\/a>, The Graham Norton Show<\/a> and SiriusXM\u2019s E Street Radio<\/a>. He also shares insights on the box set with the new 13-minute video feature \u201cInside Nebraska \u201882: Expanded Edition,\u201d<\/a> which is available to watch on Springsteen\u2019s YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u201cElectric Nebraska\u201d was first previewed in early September of this year, with a trio version of \u201cBorn in the U.S.A\u201d from late April 1982 \u2014 featuring Springsteen backed by Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent. \u201cWe threw out the keyboards and played basically as a three-piece,\u201d Springsteen reflected. \u201cIt was kinda like punk rockabilly. We were trying to bring \u2018Nebraska\u2019 into the electric world.\u201d Later in September, fans got a look at Springsteen\u2019s first ever performance of \u201cNebraska\u201d in its entirety. Having never toured behind the initial album, Springsteen revisited these songs more than 40 years later \u2014 offering fresh insight through the subtleties of his live performance, while remaining true to the spirit of the original recordings. Shot without an audience, and with only light accompaniment from Larry Campbell and Charlie Giordano, the Thom Zimny-directed\u00a0 film is presented without narration, commentary or dialogue. \u201cOnly the voices of the characters are heard,\u201d as Springsteen said.<\/p>\n

In addition to \u201cElectric Nebraska\u201d and the \u201cNebraska\u201d performance film, the set\u2019s collection of \u201cNebraska Outtakes\u201d unearths Springsteen solo rarities \u2014 including more songs from the original \u201cNebraska\u201d home recordings, like \u201cLosin\u2019 Kind,\u201d \u201cChild Bride\u201d and an early version of \u201cDownbound Train.\u201d Tracks from a one-off 1982 solo studio session include never-released titles \u201cGun In Every Home\u201d and \u201cOn the Prowl.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s like a psycho-gothic Jerry Lee Lewis tune,\u201d Springsteen described the latter. \u201cIt was\u00a0crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

In conjunction with the release of \u201cNebraska \u201982: Expanded Edition,\u201d the feature film \u201cSpringsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere\u201d also arrives in theaters today from 20th Century Studios \u2014 chronicling the making of Springsteen\u2019s \u201cNebraska.\u201d Directed by Scott Cooper, and adapted by Cooper from Warren Zanes\u2019 book \u201cDeliver Me From Nowhere,\u201d the film stars Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen and Jeremy Strong as his longtime manager and producer Jon Landau \u2014 alongside Stephen Graham, Odessa Young, Paul Walter Hauser, Gaby Hoffman, Marc Maron and David Krumholtz.<\/p>\n
