Susan Boyle<\/a> won over the world with her angelic vocals, but now it’s her follicles that have fans singing her praises.<\/p>\n

The Scottish singer and television personality<\/a>, who was catapulted to music and internet stardom as the runner-up on Season 3 of “Britain’s Got Talent,” surprised fans during a recent red-carpet appearance when she showed off her new blonde hairstyle.<\/p>\n

Boyle, known for her brunette bob hairdo, showed off the lighter look while attending the Pride of Britain Awards on Monday, Oct. 20. The ceremony, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, honors everyday people who have persevered through challenging circumstances.<\/p>\n

“What a wonderful evening at the Pride of Britain Awards! \ud83d\udc96” Boyle, 64, wrote in an Oct. 21 Instagram post<\/a>, which featured several glamorous shots of her new do. “It was such an honor to celebrate so many truly inspiring people. Everyone looked absolutely fabulous, and it was lovely to catch up with some familiar faces.”<\/p>\n

Boyle has been featuring her hair transformation on social media over the past few months, including an August movie night<\/a> to see Pamela Anderson<\/a> and Liam Neeson’s<\/a> crime comedy “The Naked Gun.”<\/a><\/p>\n

The Grammy-nominated operatic pop singer first charmed viewers in <\/a>2009<\/a> when she appeared as a contestant on the Simon Cowell<\/a>-helmed reality-competition series “Britain’s Got Talent.” Boyle, then 47, was an unemployed charity worker from the rural Scottish district of West Lothian, who told the show’s cameras that she lived alone with her cat, Pebbles, and had “never been kissed.”<\/p>\n

Tens of millions of people watched her stunning audition performance on YouTube in the 24 hours after the episode aired. Boyle became an overnight sensation, with television crews flocking to her hometown and showbiz luminaries like Oprah Winfrey<\/a> inviting Boyle on their shows.<\/p>\n

Boyle’s momentum extended beyond her “BGT\u201d tenure. Her\u00a0debut album “I Dreamed a Dream,” released in November 2009, set the U.K.’s record for biggest first week sales by a debut album and eventually became 2009’s second best-selling album in the U.S.<\/p>\n
