I\u2019m a 32M and I\u2019ve been shaving my head lately because I\u2019ve been losing hair.<\/p>\n
I usually just say \u201cI\u2019m bald\u201d since that\u2019s easier than explaining that I\u2019m thinning or balding.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s the issue. I have a friend (35M) who is completely bald.<\/p>\n
And he keeps going on about something he calls the \u201cOBMP\u201d (One Bald Man Policy).<\/p>\n
This man doesn\u2019t qualify as a \u201cbald man,\u201d according to his friend.<\/p>\n
I don\u2019t fully understand it, but basically, he says only one guy in a friend group can be \u201cthe bald one.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to him, I don\u2019t qualify because I\u2019m not fully bald.<\/p>\n
He also says that people in our group supposedly like me more, so I\u2019d \u201csteal his role.\u201d<\/p>\n
He gets irritated when I describe myself as bald and insists I shouldn\u2019t use the word.<\/p>\n
He even gets mad that I shave my head, saying it \u201cdoesn\u2019t count\u201d since I still technically have hair.<\/p>\n
But for him, he\u2019s also bald since he had shaven all his hair down to the skin.<\/p>\n
From my perspective, if I shave my head down to the skin and look bald, then I am bald in practice.<\/p>\n
But he feels like I\u2019m minimizing his \u201cexperience\u201d by calling myself that.<\/p>\n
So AITA for calling myself bald when technically I\u2019m just balding?<\/p>\n
