Based on how Addison Barger stepped up in Game 1 of the World Series<\/a>, you\u2019d have thought he slept on a brand new California King bed the night before.<\/p>\n

Apparently, that wasn\u2019t the case. Not even close.<\/p>\n

Barger\u2019s teammate, Davis Schneider, revealed that the World Series hero of Game 1 slept on his pull-out couch the night before rewriting the record books with the first-ever pinch-hit grand slam in World Series history.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis family was coming in tonight, so he needed someone to stay with,\u201d Schneider said postgame. \u201cHe needed someone; he was staying with Myles [Straw], and then stayed with me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barger and Schneider go way back, having been teammates with the Vancouver Canadians<\/a> before becoming Major League Baseball players.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy girlfriend\u2019s here and he was like, \u2018Can I sleep in the bed with you guys?\u2019 I was like, \u2018No, sleep on the couch.’\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was squeaking all night.\u201d<\/p>\n

Schneider also revealed that he and Schneider were staying at the Marriott hotel that\u2019s attached to Rogers Centre, and that they were woken up by the Game 1 rehearsals at 9 a.m.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were like, \u2018what the hell is going on, it\u2019s so early,’\u201d Schneider told reporters.<\/p>\n

Despite the odd sleeping arrangements, Barger came up huge in Game 1 of the World Series, with his pinch-hit, grand slam in the sixth inning helping the Jays to an 11-4 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1.<\/p>\n

Between Barger sleeping on Schneider\u2019s couch while Trey Yesavage bounces from hotel to hotel<\/a>, this iteration of the Jays seems to be getting wins, no matter what the outside circumstances are.<\/p>\n
