President, Nigerian University of Technology and Management, Dr Babs Omotowa, has asserted the need for institutions of learning to produce ethical and innovative leaders who are equipped to transform Africa.\n<\/p>\n
Omotowa, in a statement, also stressed the need for African countries to have a curriculum grounded in equipping graduates with problem-solving, entrepreneurship, technological and leadership skills.\n<\/p>\n
Noting the fast-evolving nature of the world, he stressed that it had become compelling for schools to produce a generation that can lead Africa\u2019s digital and technological future.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cAt NUTM, we are building more than a university \u2014 we are building a movement of ethical, innovative leaders equipped to transform Africa from within.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith faculty drawn from institutions like MIT, Yale, and INSEAD, and a learning model grounded in hands-on problem-solving, NUTM is shaping a generation ready to lead Africa\u2019s digital and technological future,\u201d\u00a0 Omotowa said.\n<\/p>\n
On its part as an institution, Omotowa said NUTM was on course to offer programmes in fields like robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing. <\/p>\n
\u201cNUTM was established with a mission to develop the next generation of African leaders equipped to solve real-world problems using innovation and ethical leadership.<\/p>\n
\u201cNUTM is redefining higher education in Africa by offering globally benchmarked programs that focus on technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership.\n<\/p>\n
\u201cWhile NUTM is currently focused on STEM and management disciplines, plans are underway to introduce additional STEM programs that reflect the fast-evolving needs of Nigeria and the African continent, including fields like robotics, AI, and advanced computing,\u201d he added.\n<\/p>\n
The institution was founded in 2020, in Lagos, and presently offers undergraduate programmes in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Cybersecurity.\n<\/p>\n
