Goaltender Joseph Woll<\/a> was on the ice for Toronto Maple Leafs<\/a> practice Monday morning.<\/p>\n

The Leafs said last week that Woll was set to take part in team activities and on-ice participation as part of his return-to-play process.<\/p>\n

Toronto also saw star winger William Nylander<\/a> back on the ice Monday after he was forced to miss Saturday\u2019s overtime win over the Buffalo Sabres<\/a>. Dealing with a lower-body injury, Nylander has three goals and 14 points in eight games this season. <\/p>\n

Woll has not played this season after taking a leave of absence during training camp due to a family matter. He returned to the club last week but since he was placed on the injured reserve list, he will not be eligible to return before Nov. 1. <\/p>\n

General manager Brad Treliving told reporters Monday that Woll has been skating every other day for the past few weeks. He added the goaltender could see time with the AHL\u2019s Toronto Marlies for conditioning purposes.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust to get him back for us could be a huge spark, could give us a little energy,\u201d goaltender Anthony Stolarz<\/a> said about Woll over the weekend. <\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t really spoken too much to him, just kind of giving him his space. But at the end of the day, he\u2019s a huge part of our team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Woll, 27, was 27-14-1 with a 2.73 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage in 42 games last season. <\/p>\n

Lightening the load<\/p>\n

Stolarz has had the majority of work in the Leafs\u2019 crease this season, starting seven of nine games. He has a 3.31 GAA and an .885 save percentage.<\/p>\n

Leafs head coach Craig Berube<\/a> said over the weekend that getting Woll back in the mix will help take a load off Stolarz.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a lot for him that we leaned on him heavy here,\u201d Berube said. \u201cA lot of games, a lot of hockey he\u2019s played. So I\u2019m sure he\u2019s tired a little bit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cayden Primeau<\/a> has started the other two games in net for Toronto and has won both alongside a 3.46 GAA and .875 save percentage. He backstopped the Leafs to a 4-3 overtime victory Saturday against the Sabres that helped the team rebound from a 5-3 loss in Buffalo the night before.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Calle Jarnkrok<\/a> was absent from Toronto\u2019s skate Monday.<\/p>\n
