The Lakers <\/a>are off to a solid start in the 2025-26 NBA <\/a>season, with a record of 2-1 through three games.<\/p>\n

This has been done without their franchise player, LeBron James, but the Lakers<\/a> might have to navigate the next dozen games without another one of their starting players.<\/p>\n

Which Lakers’ starter will miss time?<\/p>\n

NBA insider\u00a0Shams Charania <\/a>reported on Monday night, “Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is expected to miss 2 to 4 weeks after undergoing an MRI on his sprained left ankle.”<\/p>\n

Vincent has contributed just 3.7 points, 1.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists so far this season, but has started in all three games, averaging 24.0 minutes.<\/p>\n

He’s entering his third season with the Lakers after four seasons with the Heat<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He hasn’t been able to find the rhythm in Los Angeles that he had in Miami, with injuries and struggles being a common theme in his time with the team.<\/p>\n

In his final year with Miami, Vincent averaged 9.4 points and 2.5 assists and then went on to average 12.7 points in 22 games in the 2022-23 postseason, which included a run to the NBA Finals.<\/p>\n

Jake LaRavia got the start on Monday night in the Lakers game against the Trail Blazers<\/a>, his first since the 2023-24 season when he was with the Grizzlies<\/a>. Austin Reaves was moved to point guard as well on Monday.<\/p>\n

A 2-4 week timetable for Vincent could have him missing around 8-14 games.<\/p>\n

Other Lakers who missed Monday night’s game with either short\/long-term injuries include Luka Doncic, Jaxson Hayes, LeBron James, Maxi Kleber, Marcus Smart and Adou Thiero.<\/p>\n
