Patrick Mahomes threw three touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Washington Commanders 28-7 on Monday evening. <\/p>\n

Following two first-half interceptions, Mahomes found his rhythm after the interval to inspire the Chiefs to win their third consecutive game.<\/p>\n

The two-time NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) completed 25 of his 34 passes for 299 yards, finding Kareem Hunt, Rashee Rice and Terry McLaurin for touchdowns in the second half. <\/p>\n

Tight end Travis Kelce enjoyed his best performance of the season, with six catches for 99 yards and a touchdown of his own. <\/p>\n

The 36-year-old considered retirement after the Chiefs’ Super Bowl defeat by the Philadelphia Eagles in February<\/a> but committed to at least another season in March. <\/p>\n

The three-time Super Bowl winner said he and Commanders tight end Zach Ertz, 34, are making the most of the time they have left in their career.<\/p>\n

“We’re cherishing every single one of these games, not knowing how long we’ll be able to do this,” said Kelce. <\/p>\n

The Chiefs have now won four of their last five games, improving their record to five wins and three defeats from eight matches.<\/p>\n
