ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013\u00a0A milestone week on the field has earned\u00a0Gannon’s Sverre Orten<\/a> (Orsta, Norway\/Aalesund vgs)\u00a0national recognition, as the senior forward was selected as the\u00a0D2CIDA Men’s Soccer National Player of the Week\u00a0for his performance from October 20 to 26.<\/p>\n

Orten helped guide the No. 24 Golden Knights to back-to-back conference victories, extending the team’s current winning streak to four.<\/p>\n

Orten finished the week with\u00a011 points, scoring\u00a0four goals\u00a0and adding\u00a0three assists\u00a0across the two matches. He posted two goals and two assists in a 4 to 2 win at Seton Hill, then added two more goals and one assist in a 7 to 0 home victory over Pitt Johnstown.

\nThe performance pushed him past the\u00a0100 career point\u00a0mark, making him just the\u00a012th player in program history\u00a0to reach the milestone, and he also moved into\u00a0second place all-time\u00a0at Gannon with\u00a045 career assists.<\/p>\n

Across the two-match stretch, Orten totaled\u00a0nine shots\u00a0with\u00a0six on target, continuing to anchor one of the PSAC’s most productive attacks. He now ranks\u00a0tied for first in the conference in goals (11)\u00a0and\u00a0goals per game (0.786)\u00a0while also leading the league in\u00a0assists (11),\u00a0assists per game (0.786),\u00a0points (33), and\u00a0points per game (2.36).<\/p>\n
