{"id":246436,"date":"2025-10-28T21:12:16","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T21:12:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/246436\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T21:12:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T21:12:16","slug":"chipping-campden-students-praise-scheme-for-tackling-gcses-stress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/246436\/","title":{"rendered":"Chipping Campden students praise scheme for tackling GCSEs stress"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">More than 550 children a day in England were referred to mental health services for anxiety in 2023-24, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/digital.nhs.uk\/supplementary-information\/2024\/child-referrals-to-mental-health-services-for-anxiety\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">figures released by the NHS in 2024, external<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Coton, a certified life coach, currently runs the workshops with pupils at Chipping Campden School in the Cotswolds, as they prepare for their GCSEs.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The father-of-three has worked with the school for several years and another to see the benefits was Year 12 student Fraser.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I could do maybe 10 minutes [revision] and then go on my phone,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;But with Sam&#8217;s teaching, it got wired in my brain that I could start doing six hours revision, it was like magic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Mr Coton said his programme built self-belief by teaching students about their subconscious mind.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;A lot of them present with not being positive or confident,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;But a lot of that is down to an inner belief that can be rewired, particularly if you get to the root cause of it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He also guides them through exercises to get them to focus on being present and help shut out distractions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"More than 550 children a day in England were referred to mental health services for anxiety in 2023-24,&hellip;\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":246437,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[35],"tags":[49,48,84,393,394],"class_list":{"0":"post-246436","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mental-health","8":"tag-ca","9":"tag-canada","10":"tag-health","11":"tag-mental-health","12":"tag-mentalhealth"},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/246436","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=246436"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/246436\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/246437"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=246436"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=246436"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=246436"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
