Daniil Medvedev was a winner again recently as he claimed the first prize at the Almaty Open. <\/p>\n

The Russian also reached the semifinal at the Shanghai Masters<\/a> but was beaten by a resurgent Arthur Rinderknech<\/a>, who went on to lose in the final. <\/p>\n

Medvedev<\/a> went into the Almaty Open final as the heavy favourite, and he managed to overcome Frenchman Corentin Moutet in three sets to claim the title. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a turbulent year for Medvedev when it comes to the Grand Slam tournaments, and he\u2019s managed a single win at the four majors in 2025. <\/p>\n

Medvedev has already said what he\u2019s looking forward to at the Paris Masters<\/a> and now he\u2019s taken part in a little bit of fun on social media ahead of the tournament. <\/p>\n

With a new \u2018Six-Seven\u2019 craze becoming a trend, Overtime Tennis interviewed a number of players on their Instagram channel to ask if they\u2019d retire from tennis for $67 million. <\/p>\n

There\u2019s not actually anything that confirms what the six-seven trend is all about. It\u2019s a viral rap song sung by Skrilla, but it mainly consists of shouting the phrase six-seven in various random contexts. <\/p>\n

There is also The 67 Kid, who made the trend even popular by excitedly yelling six-seven with a hand gesture at a basketball game. <\/p>\n

The interviews with the players on the Instagram<\/a> feed went as follows, with most of them suggesting that they\u2019d continue playing tennis \u2013 including Medvedev. <\/p>\n

Learner Tien: \u201cAnd I could play recreationally or not? No I don\u2019t think I would to be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Medvedev: \u201cI know this is some trend going on but I don\u2019t know it. Would I quit tennis for $67 million? It\u2019s not an easy question. Do we go before tax, after tax, do I get in one go or an instalment for the next 50 years? But no, I would go no.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zizou Bergs: \u201cNo, no chance!\u201d<\/p>\n

Corentin Moutet: \u201c$67 million? That\u2019s a lot. I like tennis, I love it, but $67 million, I can do a lot. Free of pain, spend time with the family.\u201d<\/p>\n

Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard: \u201cMaybe? That\u2019s a lot of money. A Grand Slam is better than $67 million.\u201d<\/p>\n

Felix Auger-Aliassime: \u201cGive me a few more years, I don\u2019t know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Alexander Muller: \u201cNo! I signed the contract now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Davidovich Fokina: \u201cMaybe!\u201d<\/p>\n

Grigor Dimitrov: \u201cNo, no, I wouldn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Daniil Medvedev said about potentially retiring earlier this year<\/p>\n

Medvedev was critiqued earlier this year following some drab performances to start the year off, including an early exit at the Australian Open. <\/p>\n

Despite being just 29-years-old, Medvedev was quizzed on whether he was considering retirement earlier this year and he\u2019s in no doubt as to where he sits when discussing that potential situation. <\/p>\n

He told Tennis World: \u201cNo, I mean, I don\u2019t even know what to say about that. I like tennis, still win a lot of money, so I\u2019m going to continue playing. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf I drop out of the top 100, then I don\u2019t know, but this is probably not going to happen. And I\u2019m pretty sure I can come back strong enough. That\u2019s it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Medvedev doesn\u2019t have a lot to play for left this season and he will now be simply looking to win a few more matches at the Paris Masters. <\/p>\n
