\n\tIt\u2019s about to be a feminomenon \u2014 Chappell Roan<\/a> is set to induct Cyndi Lauper<\/a> into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the 40th annual ceremony on Nov. 8. In an Instagram video<\/a> announcing the news, Roan shared her excitement about the induction and spoke directly to the impact Lauper has had on her and her career.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cShe has inspired me with her fashion and her hair, and of course, her makeup, her music,\u201d the singer said. \u201cI actually auditioned with \u2018True Colors\u2019 for\u00a0America\u2019s Got Talent\u00a0when I was 13. I didn\u2019t make it, but the song is still incredible. I\u2019m so excited, thank you for having me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tLast year, in an interview with Playbill<\/a> and in her documentary Let the Canary Sing, Lauper shared her own admiration for Roan\u2019s rising career. \u201cSuch dusky, yearning keyboard pop,\u201d she said of Roan\u2019s music. Just like Roan did about her, Lauper also gushed about Roan\u2019s hair. \u201cAnd that hair!\u00a0That kind of reminds me of what I did on the blues record,\u00a0Memphis Blues. This is just incredible.\u00a0Everything you wind up doing is an artist collective. I\u2019m going to have to reach out to her.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Tuesday, along with the news of Roan and Lauper, the Rock Hall announced the Killers<\/a> were also added to the star-studded lineup of guests. Earlier this month, Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat, and Elton John were announced<\/a> as participating as performers and presenters for the induction ceremony. Beck, David Letterman, Flea, Iggy Pop, J.I.D, Killer Mike, Maxwell, Questlove, Raye, Sleepy Brown, Teddy Swims, Twenty One Pilots, and Taylor Momsen will also make an appearance at the event, which is being held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. It remains unclear which artists will specifically be performing or presenting.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe ceremony will be streamed live on Disney+ and available on Hulu the next day.<\/p>\n

\n\tBeyond Lauper, this year\u2019s induction ceremony will honor the following inductees: Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Outkast, Soundgarden, and the White Stripes; along with Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon for Musical Influence; Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye for Musical Excellence; and Lenny Waronker for the Ahmet Ertegun Award.<\/p>\n
