Cheryl Hines is convinced that the hosts of The View had not read her book when they grilled her about her husband\u2019s track record<\/a> as Health and Human Services secretary.<\/p>\n

Hines appeared on the show on earlier this month, and the conversation was not what she had \u201choped\u201d for, she told Billy Bush on his Hot Mics podcast<\/a>. \u201cI was actually hoping it was going to be more personal on The View,\u201d she told Bush. \u201cIt just what it was. They just wanted to grill me about Bobby.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hines seemed caught off guard by most of the co-hosts\u2019 questions, and stumbled through her answers. By the end of the tense appearance, host Sunny Hostin declared to Hines, \u201cThe problem, respectfully, is that your husband is the least qualified Department of Health and Human Services head that we\u2019ve had in history,\u201d which she said was \u201cvery dangerous.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The hosts were not convinced, and neither was The View\u2019s studio audience, which clapped when Behar said, \u201cIt\u2019s not fair to really put you on the spot about him because you\u2019re his wife. I know that, but when you say that they are pro-vaccine, it seems as though Bobby and Trump are casting doubt on the efficacy of the vaccine, which makes Americans very nervous.\u201d <\/p>\n

In addition to insisting Kennedy was pro-vaccine as the hosts highlighted that he removed all 17 members of the CDC\u2019s vaccine advisory, she\u2019d also tried to defend his declarations about Tylenol and pregnant women.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, they said consult your doctor before taking it,\u201d Hines attempted, but Trump, with Kennedy by his side, stated matter of factly just weeks prior, \u201cDon\u2019t take it. Don\u2019t take it. There\u2019s no downside in not taking it\u2026 don\u2019t take Tylenol.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hines justified the tough questions to Bush by relaying her theory that she View hosts hadn\u2019t read the book she\u2019d been promoting, her upcoming memoir Unscripted<\/a>. \u201cI don\u2019t think the ladies on The View asked me one question about my book,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

But evidence points to the contrary. At least one host had read at least some of Hines\u2019 book, as Hostin asked Hines about a specific passage. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou write in your book that friends called voicing concerns, saying \u2018You can\u2019t let Bobby do this, he\u2019s going to get Trump elected.
