\n\tCheryl Hines<\/a> has criticized her interview earlier this month<\/a> on \u201cThe View<\/a>,\u201d saying the hosts \u201cjust wanted to grill me\u201d about her husband, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is currently serving as the U.S. secretary of health and human services.<\/p>\n

\n\tHines, an actor and comedian best known for her role on Larry David\u2019s HBO sitcom \u201cCurb Your Enthusiasm,\u201d appeared on the ABC talk show Oct. 14 to promote her upcoming memoir \u201cUnscripted.\u201d Though the book documents Hines\u2019 newfound involvement in politics alongside RFK Jr.<\/a> as he mounted a presidential campaign in 2024, she was not pleased that \u201cThe View\u201d hosts focused their questions on her husband\u2019s current policies and relationship with President Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Billy Bush\u2019s \u201cHot Mics\u201d show on Tuesday, Hines said that she wishes the questions were more \u201cpersonal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know, I was actually hoping that it was going to be more personal on \u2018The View,\u2019 but it was what it was. They just wanted to grill me about Bobby,\u201d she said. \u201cI mean, I don\u2019t think the ladies on \u2018The View\u2019 asked me one question about my book. But, you know, that\u2019s OK.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tDuring Hines\u2019 \u201cView\u201d interview, hosts Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg acknowledged that \u201cit\u2019s not fair\u201d to put her \u201con the spot\u201d about RFK Jr. and it\u2019s not her \u201cfight to be having,\u201d but questioned her about his views on vaccines and qualifications for the health and human services role.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe conversation turned particularly tense when Sunny Hostin asserted that RFK Jr. has \u201cspread a lot of misinformation, a lot of chaos, a lot of confusion,\u201d pointing out once Hines began to reply that \u201che\u2019s connecting circumcisions to autism.\u201d Hines interjected, \u201cMay I? May I finish?\u201d before claiming that when Anthony Fauci was \u201csaying when you get the vaccine, you cannot transmit COVID, it will stop COVID, that was disinformation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tBehar cut the tension by asking Hines if RFK Jr. really has a brain worm, to which Hines joked: \u201cIt ate just a little bit of his brain and died, so don\u2019t worry!\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt the end of the interview, Goldberg stressed the importance of welcoming others onto the show who have different viewpoints, asking Hines to come back. \u201cWe don\u2019t often get people on this show who we can ask these questions to, and I appreciate that you came on,\u201d Goldberg said. \u201cBecause you know what, if we can have the discussion back and forth, it then becomes people\u2019s \u2014 then they can decide what they believe, and they don\u2019t just hear one side.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tDespite Hines\u2019 comments on Bush\u2019s \u201cHot Mics,\u201d a rep for the actor told Entertainment Weekly<\/a> that she still considers \u201cthe appearance a success.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cCheryl engaged with respect and class, in light of them\u00a0asking her repeatedly to defend her husband, which by the way was not the purpose of her appearance, it was to discuss her new memoir\u00a0\u2018Unscripted,’\u201d the rep told EW. \u201cShe was completely unbothered, as one would have to be living in a cave to think they wouldn\u2019t make Bobby the primary focus.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe rep for Hines had previously told EW after the episode\u2019s airing that Hines \u201cwasn\u2019t annoyed at all\u201d and it was a \u201cgreat, balanced conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n
