Lexie Hull is aware of the spotlight on the Fever \u2014 and the envy from outsiders that can follow.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Glamour<\/a> as part of her Women of the Year cover story, the 26-year-old guard recognized the heightened media attention her team has received as the WNBA\u2019s fan growth has exploded, particularly with the arrival of Caitlin Clark in 2024.<\/p>\n \u201cI think there is a level of jealousy when it comes to the Fever, just because of the media attention and the fans that have shown up for us ever since Caitlin got here,\u201d Hull said of Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. \u201cWe\u2019ve heard people and players and teams talking in their locker room about, \u2018We can\u2019t let the Fever win.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n Lexie Hull in action for the Indiana Fever in September 2025. NBAE via Getty Images<\/p>\n Clark\u2019s popularity entering the league led to a surge in viewership<\/a> and subsequent speculation regarding competitors being envious<\/a>. <\/p>\n Hull, Indiana\u2019s sixth overall pick out of Stanford in 2022, is encouraging opponents to use those feelings as \u201cextra motivation\u201d when they meet the Fever on the court.<\/p>\n Caitlin Clark\u2019s popularity has drawn more attention to the WNBA in recent years.
