However, the Zimbabwe international fired a weak effort straight at Kucherenko.

The rebound fell to Hendry, who weaved past two defenders before being denied by an incredible acrobatic clearance from Ferry to atone for his earlier mistake.

Both managers looked to their benches with 25 minutes left. Motherwell made a triple switch while there were two changes for the visitors.

United had their first clear attempt on goal after 70 minutes when Dario Naamo’s knockdown found Luca Stephenson who steered beyond Ward but against the face of the post.

The game was put beyond the Terrors’ reach in the 77th minute as Longelo stormed forward and slipped the ball to Watt, who produced a superb bending shot beyond the helpless Kucherenko from 20 yards.

The final chance fell to Well, with Slattery blazing high and wide.

What’s coming up in the Scottish Premiership?

Motherwell ensured they will head into their Premier Sports Cup semi-final in high spirits after seeing off Dundee…

[440
49,48,561,82
0":"post-249601","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-soccer","8":"tag-ca","9":"tag-canada","10":"tag-soccer","11":"tag-sports
["GET
