{"id":250379,"date":"2025-10-30T16:01:09","date_gmt":"2025-10-30T16:01:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/250379\/"},"modified":"2025-10-30T16:01:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-30T16:01:09","slug":"parker-headlines-2026-womens-hoops-hall-of-fame-class","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/250379\/","title":{"rendered":"Parker headlines 2026 women&#8217;s hoops Hall of Fame class"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oct 30, 2025, 11:45 AM ET<\/p>\n<p>Candace Parker, Elena Delle Donne and Cheryl Reeve headline the 2026 Women&#8217;s Basketball Hall of Fame class that was announced Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Other players getting inducted on June 27 include international stars <a data-player-guid=\"2512b7b5-b5a7-1abb-d322-3e1babc909f0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/player\/_\/id\/169\/isabelle-fijalkowski\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Isabelle Fijalkowski<\/a> of France and <a data-player-guid=\"817165d3-76f0-2634-b786-b900730e2b56\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/player\/_\/id\/407\/amaya-valdemoro\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Amaya Valdemoro<\/a> of Spain, Kirkwood Community College coach Kim Muhl and Barbara Kennedy-Dixon will also be inducted as well as ESPN announcer Doris Burke.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are honored to pay tribute to eight distinguished legends of this exceptional sport,&#8221; said Hall of Fame President Dana Hart. &#8220;They exemplify the highest standards in women&#8217;s basketball and have made substantial contributions to the sport, along with shaping the game&#8217;s historical trajectory.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Parker won three WNBA championships on three different teams while also helping the U.S. win two Olympic gold medals.<\/p>\n<p>Delle Donne was recently named the national team director of USA Basketball 3-on-3 team. She announced her retirement in April from the WNBA. She won two WNBA MVPs, made seven All-Star appearances in 11 seasons and helped the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"39c302ad-d5df-e0d0-33e8-1cffebc5bc75\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/team\/_\/name\/wsh\/washington-mystics\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Mystics<\/a> win a league championship in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Reeve has won four titles in her 16 years in charge of the <a data-clubhouse-guid=\"d815e23c-aa3e-3490-d7be-f876d1e30e8a\" href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/wnba\/team\/_\/name\/min\/minnesota-lynx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Minnesota Lynx<\/a>. She&#8217;s won WNBA Coach of the Year four times and the league&#8217;s Executive of the Year twice. She also led the U.S. women&#8217;s basketball national team to a gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.<\/p>\n<p>Burke has been a basketball voice for the past three decades, working at ESPN since 1991. She was a huge part of the network&#8217;s coverage of the NCAA Tournament and WNBA. She also was a trailblazer working ESPN&#8217;s men&#8217;s college basketball coverage starting in 2003 and then the NBA that same year. She later became part of the network&#8217;s lead broadcasting team in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Valdemoro won three titles with the Houston Comets from 1998-2000. She also won eight Spanish League titles. Valdemoro played for Spain in the two Olympics in 2004 and 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Fijalkowski won five French League championships and played for the Cleveland Rockers for two years in the WNBA.<\/p>\n<p>Muhl has won over 1,000 games in his time in his nearly four decades of coaching.
