George Springer\u2019s absence from the Toronto Blue Jays lineup may wind up being a very temporary one.<\/p>\n
Springer was forced to leave Game 4<\/a> in the seventh inning after grabbing at his right side following a swing on a pitch from LA Dodgers reliever Justin Wrobleski. Despite the absence, however, there seems to be optimism that the 36-year-old may be able to get back in for Game 6 on Friday night.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is not out of the question we will see George Springer tonight,\u201d MLB analyst Ken Rosenthal said shortly before Game 5. \u201cHe ran today and hit off of a velocity machine. That said, Schneider seemed very optimistic about his injury timeline when speaking with reporters on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n George Springer (midsection) came close to starting Game 5, per Blue Jays manager John Schneider, who added that “he\u2019s checked every box physically so far.”<\/p>\n Sounds like a strong possibility Springer\u2019s in the Blue Jays lineup for Game 6 if he continues trending the way he has.<\/p>\n \u2014 Arden Zwelling (@ArdenZwelling) October 30, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n Should Springer be able to get back into the lineup, there is a good chance that Bichette, who served as the DH for Game 5, will go back to second base. That would allow for Springer to slide back in as DH, and would likely push Schneider out of the lineup once again.<\/p>\n Through 57 at-bats in the postseason, Springer is hitting .246 with four home runs and nine RBI.
