The return of the captain is on the horizon.<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/NHLJets?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">#NHLJets<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 danielle bain (@danielleBain) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/danielleBain\/status\/1984324578727117132?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">October 31, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Lowry underwent hip surgery in May, resumed skating in August and targeted late October\/early November as the target for a return to play. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The 32-year-old forward had 16 goals and 18 assists in 73 games last year with the Jets. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He is in the final season of a five-year, $16.25 million contract and will be an unrestricted free agent next summer. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Lowry, a third-round pick by Winnipeg in 2011, was named captain of the Jets ahead of the 2023-24 season.
