{"id":254307,"date":"2025-11-01T10:04:12","date_gmt":"2025-11-01T10:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/254307\/"},"modified":"2025-11-01T10:04:12","modified_gmt":"2025-11-01T10:04:12","slug":"angel-reese-wont-play-in-unrivaled-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/254307\/","title":{"rendered":"Angel Reese Won\u2019t Play in Unrivaled | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After being named the Defensive Player of the Year of the Unrivaled basketball league&#8217;s inaugural season, <a href=\"https:\/\/https:\/\/www.bet.com\/tag\/3b3zsf\/angel-reese\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">Angel Reeese<\/a> has decided to skip out on her sophomore season.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/sports\/basketball\/2025\/10\/30\/sky-angel-reese-wont-play-in-unrivaled\/86985991007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">USA Today<\/a>, Unrivaled released the full rosters for\u00a0 the 2026 season on Thursday, Oct. 30, and Reese was noticeably absent. The league will open its second season in Miami in January.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Reese\u2019s team, Rose BC, won the championship in Unrivaled\u2019s inaugural season. Throughout her sophomore WNBA season, she spoke highly of the league\u2019s impact on her development as a player. She also wished the league well on a recent episode of her \u201cUnapologetically Angel\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n<p>The offseason has been a busy one for Reese. She appeared in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bet.com\/article\/kvnhv4\/angel-reese-makes-history-with-victorias-secret-fashion-show-debut\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Victoria\u2019s Secret fashion show<\/a> as a runway model.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStepping into a dream: Angel to a Victoria\u2019s Secret ANGEL. I\u2019m finally getting my wings. Wings on, heels ready\u2026 Catch me on the runway,\u201d she wrote on Instagram at the time.<\/p>\n<p>Other notable players such as Jewell Loyd of the Las Vegas Aces and Kayla McBride of the Minnesota Lynx won\u2019t be returning\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The league also announced the last three players of its expanded 48-woman roster Thursday \u2014 Dominique Malonga, Aari McDonald and Rebecca Allen<\/p>\n<p>Malonga, the No. 2 overall pick of the Seattle Storm in the 2025 WNBA draft, is joining Unrivaled for the 2026 season.
