\n The #10\/third-seeded Middlebury women’s soccer team earned a 2-0 victory over sixth-seeded Hamilton in Saturday’s NESCAC Quarterfinals from the Allan Dragone Track & Field Complex. With the win, the Panthers advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2021.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe hosts created their first chance with 6:29 expired. Lauren Tracey<\/a> settled a corner kick and fired a bid from 20 yards out that clanked off the left post. Carolina Espinosa<\/a> tried a rebound attempt but pushed it wide.
\n\tWith 33:30 left in the initial half, Hamilton’s Isabel Harvey headed a corner kick toward the upper-right corner that aired just wide of the right post.
\n\tMiddlebury found its first tally in the 22nd minute. Roshann Purcell<\/a> guided a long ball from Wynne Braemer<\/a> to the right corner. Continental goalie Nieve Tonna dropped to her left and slapped the ball away, but not before Gigi Day<\/a> dashed in and tapped the rebound in for the 1-0 advantage.
\n\tRyan Manning tested Panther goalie Livia Davidson<\/a> with 21:05 to play in the stanza, thumping a low shot to the right side of the goal that the senior turned away.
\n\tIn the 39th minute, Evie McCreery delivered a low-center attempt from two steps into the box. Davidson dropped to smother the bid.
\n\tKjersti Moritz<\/a> extended the lead to 2-0 with 44:11 elapsed, navigating through a trio of Continental defenders and uncorking a bending bid that sailed just over the outstretched hand of Tonna and into the upper-left corner.
\n\tThe guests created more chances in the second session. Haley Cramer sent in a looping bid that bent toward the right side at the 41:24 mark. Davidson dove and made the save.
\n\tJess Yee followed up with an open chance from inside the box in the 52nd minute, but her shot clanged off the left post and was cleared away by the Panther defense.
\n\tChloe Swindle<\/a> dialed up a bid from 25 yards toward the upper-right corner with 57:33 played. Tonna elevated to deny the chance.
\n\tWith 25:48 to go, Abby Douglass gathered possession on the right sideline and fired on target. Davidson stepped off her line to secure the bouncing bid and maintain the margin.
\n\tMcCreery delivered a low attempt at the right corner at the 89:35 mark that Davidson fell on to secure the 2-0 decision.

\n\tDay netted her third marker of the season and Moritz tallied her first goal of the campaign.
\n\tDavidson made eight saves to secure her sixth shutout.
\n\tIt was just the second time that both sides met in the NESCAC postseason, as Middlebury avenged a 1-0 loss in the 2017 quarterfinals.\u00a0
