Ronan Rudichuk thought he would be watching Game 6 of the World Series <\/a>between the Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers on TV like everyone else who wasn\u2019t able to score a ticket.<\/p>\n But what the 11-year-old Jays fan didn\u2019t know was that while he was making plans to go trick-or-treating before tuning in Friday night, his family had secretly planned to take him to the Rogers Centre in person.<\/p>\n The moment Rudichuk received the news was captured on video as he spoke with his grandfather, Dave Rudichuk, who lives in Edmonton.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not spending $3,000 to go see a baseball game,\u201d Rudichuk told his grandfather vehemently, referring to the tickets that have been re-selling for thousand of dollars<\/a> after they went on sale last week.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat if I spent $3,000 and took you to the baseball game?\u201d asked his grandfather.<\/p>\n \u201cI would go,\u201d Rudichuk answered. <\/p>\n \u201cWell…you\u2019re going,\u201d his grandfather responded to Rudichuk\u2019s disbelief.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat!?\u201d the 11-year-old says.<\/p>\n After learning Game 6 fell on Halloween night, the young Jays fan does express some regret knowing that his trick-or-treating plans have been foiled, but he makes a quick recovery.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s OK. I\u2019ll skip Halloween,\u201d he says to his family\u2019s laughter. \u201cLet\u2019s go!\u201d<\/p>\n Rudichuk\u2019s grandfather flew into Toronto for the game and the two even made it on the jumbotron with a selfie they took from the 500 level.<\/p>\n It was a full circle moment of sorts for Rudichuk\u2019s father, Mike, who attended a World Series game with his dad the last time the Jays were in the Fall Classic in 1993, when the Jays won it all in Game 6.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was an interesting family moment,\u201d he said. \u201cEverything kind of lined up. I mean, if we won it in Game 6, it would have been pretty poetic.\u201d<\/p>\n The Jays lost the game Friday night despite a wild bottom of the ninth inning, when a ball hit by Addison Barger became lodged between the warning track and the padded wall<\/a> for a ground-rule double.<\/p>\n
