Marc Guiu could return to Sunderland in the January transfer window according to former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown.<\/p>\n

Guiu was sent on loan to Sunderland in the summer, but was recalled after Liam Delap suffered a hamstring injury at the end of August.<\/p>\n

The Spain under-21 international has had to be patient for his opportunity at Chelsea, with Maresca confirming he wasn\u2019t happy with the level Guiu was producing in training.<\/a><\/p>\n

Sunderland could return for Marc Guiu<\/p>\n

Guiu scored his first Champions League goal against Ajax,<\/a> but was disappointing in the defeat to Sunderland and managed just ten touches of the ball.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old was left out of the squad for the Wolves game, whilst he was an unused substitute in the win against Tottenham.<\/p>\n

With Delap now fit again, Guiu\u2019s chances of regular minutes have somewhat decreased, and Brown thinks Sunderland could return for him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe thing is with Chelsea, there are so many players on their books,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives the manager a lot of options, which is fine, but it means a lot of the players don\u2019t get a look in, because he\u2019s got his starting XI pretty much nailed down.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven the substitutes, there are preferred ones, and I don\u2019t think Guiu is one with everybody fit.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a young player, you have to be playing games. That\u2019s the most important thing. So if you get the opportunity to go and play somewhere, you have to take it.<\/p>\n

Loan move would make sense<\/p>\n

Given Guiu has already played for two teams this season, Sunderland is the only team he could join in January, and Brown believes it\u2019s a move that makes sense.<\/p>\n
