A professional footballer was injured during the stabbing attack on a London-bound train on Saturday evening.<\/p>\n
Scunthorpe United player Jonathan Gjoshe “sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack”, the club said.<\/p>\n
He was slashed across the bicep and had an operation in hospital, where he remains, the club told the BBC.<\/p>\n
A man has been charged after 11 people were injured during the attack in Huntingdon.<\/p>\n
In a statement, the National League side said: “Everyone at the club, from the board, management and his team-mates, along with all staff behind the scenes, sends our heartfelt well wishes to Jonathan for a full recovery, which is also extended to all the victims on board the train.”<\/p>\n

He played for Bottesford on Saturday.<\/p>\n One Scunthorpe supporter, writing on the fans’ message board Iron Bru, suggested organising a collection for the player while he recovered from his injuries.<\/p>\n Another posted: “Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.”<\/p>\n Passengers travelling from Doncaster to London on an LNER service were attacked in a mass stabbing.<\/p>\n Eleven people received treatment in hospital following the attack.
