{"id":259357,"date":"2025-11-03T18:45:10","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T18:45:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/259357\/"},"modified":"2025-11-03T18:45:10","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T18:45:10","slug":"shaquille-oneal-laughs-off-competition-from-new-nba-studio-shows-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/259357\/","title":{"rendered":"Shaquille O\u2019Neal Laughs Off Competition from New NBA Studio Shows | News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shaquille O\u2019Neal is making it known that\u00a0 he\u2019s not concerned about NBC\u2019s \u201cNBA Showtime,\u201d and \u201cNBA on Prime\u201d competing with \u201cInside the NBA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Appearing on ESPN Radio\u2019s \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nba\/shaquille-oneal-laughs-competing-studio-shows.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\" target=\"_blank\">The Rich Eisen Show<\/a>\u201d O\u2019Neal spoke about the show\u2019s debutm which he co-host with Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith, and Erinie Johnson, on the Worldwide Leader. The Hall of Famer praised ESPN for letting\u00a0 \u201cInside the NBA\u201d do what it does best and expressed he\u2019s not worried about the other NBA shows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe ESPN executives did a great job when they came and met with us, and they said, \u2018We\u2019re not gonna bother you.\u2019 And I said, \u2018What about when Chuck talks about San Antonio women?\u2019\u201d O\u2019Neal recalled.\u201cThey said, \u2018We\u2019ll deal with that when it happens, but we\u2019re not gonna bother you, we\u2019re not gonna micromanage you guys, it\u2019s gonna be the same show.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShout out to all the guys at TNT that fought for keeping it the same. Cause I\u2019m looking at all the other shows, they\u2019re not even close,\u201d O\u2019Neal said with a laugh. \u201cThey\u2019re not even close! You can\u2019t say it, but I can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Barkley also praised ESPN for the smooth transition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNo, it\u2019s been great,\u201d Barkley <a href=\"https:\/\/awfulannouncing.com\/nba\/charles-barkley-applauds-espn.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">shared<\/a> in an interview on \u201cThe Dan Patrick Show.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI said this, and I wasn\u2019t kissing anybody\u2019s ass. You know I ain\u2019t gonna kiss nobody\u2019s ass. That\u2019s the best thing about having money, is I don\u2019t have to listen to anybody. It\u2019s an honor and a privilege to work for ESPN because every kid grew up wanting to be on ESPN, they did\u2026so it\u2019s an honor to work for them. And we only did three shows, and they\u2019ve been great. They\u2019ve left us alone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Contrary to Shaq\u2019s sentiments, fans have praised the hosts of t the new shows. NBC\u2019s NBA Showtime features Maria Taylor, Carmelo Anthony, Vince Carter, and Tracy McGrady.
