(Submitted by RCMP)<\/p>\nA 42-year-old Regina man has been arrested and charged in the death of Tanya Myers, a passenger in an SUV who was shot and killed on a highway near Weyburn this fall.<\/p>\n
Chris Fahlman is charged with manslaughter with a firearm, careless use of a firearm, carrying a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence and being in a vehicle knowing there’s a firearm inside.\u00a0<\/p>\n
RCMP announced in a Sunday news release that he was arrested, and he was scheduled to appear in Regina provincial court Monday morning.<\/p>\n
Myers was travelling in one of two vehicles that was hit by bullets while driving on Highway 39 near Weyburn on the evening of Sept. 12.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Andrea Morrice, Myers\u2019 friend, was driving the SUV at the time and previously told CBC that the gunshot to her car was so loud she thought something had burst inside her ear.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I looked and saw Tanya\u2019s face, I could tell she was in a lot of pain and I right away just called 911,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Morrice said Myers, 44, knew what had happened.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt just really feels like I got shot,\u201d Myers told Morrice.<\/p>\n
It wasn\u2019t until paramedics arrived and were trying to revive Myers, whose pulse had stopped, that Morrice noticed a bullet hole in the back of her SUV.<\/p>\n
\u201cI could see a hole coming through the back seat, going through the back of the passenger seat,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The driver of a second SUV travelling along Highway 39 at the same time as Myers and Morrice reported to police that their vehicle had also been shot.<\/p>\n
