The Showtime series \u201cDexter: Resurrection,\u201d which premiered July 11, follows the events of the 2021 limited series \u201cDexter: New Blood,\u201d with serial killer of serial killers Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) surviving being shot by his son Harrison (Jack Alcott), then following him to New York City.<\/p>\n

In the fourth episode, which premiered on Paramount+ Premium on Friday, Dexter infiltrates a secret party for serial killers, including Gareth, aka the Gemini Killer (David Dastmalchian), and Mia, aka Lady Vengeance (Krysten Ritter).<\/p>\n
\u201cIt creates a situation where there are these seemingly oppositional things going on,\u201d Hall said at the Comic Con Variety Studio presented by Google TV on Friday. \u201cHe is in a situation where he is with like-minded people with whom he can connect in a substantive way, in ways that he can\u2019t with other people. He\u2019s also confronted with a buffet of worthy victims. So he simultaneously wants to connect with and kill these people.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ritter\u2019s Mia forms an instant bond with Dexter, who she thinks is a different serial killer of ride-share drivers known as the Dark Passenger. \u201cShe\u2019s immediately intrigued, interested, distrusting, but wants to know more,\u201d Ritter said. \u201cAnd she is very forward with him. She grabs a hold of him, and she\u2019s not gonna let go until she\u2019s done playing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dastmalchian \u2014\u00a0who played real-life serial killer Albert DeSalvo in 2023\u2019s \u201cBoston Stranger\u201d \u2014\u00a0wasn\u2019t aware at first that his character was\u00a0 a murderer. He was just excited for the chance to work with Hall on a franchise he\u2019s been watching since it first premiered since 2006.<\/p>\n
\u201cI assumed serial killer,\u201d Dastmalchian added of his character, \u201cbecause I do have a certain, um, thing on my resume that seems to scream this guy can kill people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The society of killers is organized by Leon Prater (Peter Dinklage), an extravagantly wealthy venture capitalist who has a vault filled with trophies collected by a host of serial murderers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love [how] the real and fictional fantasy world of Dexter intersect in that room,\u201d Hall said. \u201cThere\u2019s John Wayne Gacy\u2019s clown suit and Jeffrey Dahmer\u2019s refrigerator, but there were also artifacts from kills that Dexter executed in the fictional world in this same space. I like that they\u2019re all kind of swirling around in the same world in that vault.\u201d<\/p>\n
Is Prater perhaps based on a real-life venture captialist?<\/p>\n
\u201cSure,\u201d Hall said. \u201cNo one I\u2019ll name, but, yeah, I think there are real life people who maybe inspired the idea of Prater. But ultimately, he\u2019s his own fictional man.\u201d<\/p>\n
