The personalities and sound clips sure to come from both leading men this week are special.<\/p>\n<p>Mitchell led the CFL in passing yardage and set a new career-high in single-season touchdown passes while Alexander STILL hasn\u2019t lost (now 12-0 with the playoffs included). In his first career playoff start, Davis was 24-of-34 for 384 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while throwing the ball downfield, fuelled by adrenaline and home crowd confidence.<\/p>\n<p>This comes down to execution, high completion percentage, avoiding \u201cthe big mistake\u201d and high-quality throws on downfield attempts.<\/p>\n<p>Who wins the battle? I have no idea.<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: TOSS UP<\/p>\n<p>RUNNING BACKS<br \/>\n<img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2774916\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2774916 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Greg_Bell_2025_001.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2774916\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Greg Bell rushed for 1,038 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season (Kevin Sousa\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p>Alouettes running back Stevie Scott III had nine missed tackles forced in the Eastern Semi-Final, the most by any player on the weekend, as he added 133 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries.<\/p>\n<p>Since his opportunity came, Scott III has run angry, and will only do more lowering of the pads if this Alouettes\u2019 Grey Cup run continues.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s great, but <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/greg-bell\/168427\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Greg Bell\">Greg Bell<\/a> went for 156 yards on 20 carries in Montreal earlier this season, and with a week\u2019s rest, he should be the fresher of the two.<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: HAMILTON TIGER-CATS<\/p>\n<p>RECEIVERS\u00a0<br \/>\n<img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2738184\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2738184 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Kenny_Lawler_2025_3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2738184\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/kenny-lawler\/163693\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Kenny Lawler\">Kenny Lawler<\/a> hauled in a league-leading 14 touchdown passes in the regular season (Christian Bender\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve got a lot of love for Montreal\u2019s pass-catchers, especially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/tyson-philpot\/166981\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Tyson Philpot\">Tyson Philpot<\/a>, but this Hamilton group is absolutely stacked.<\/p>\n<p>Philpot had five receiving first downs, second behind only his twin Jalen for Calgary on Saturday! His 10 catch, 135 yard receiving performance will need to be duplicated with some help from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/tyler-snead\/167310\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Tyler Snead\">Tyler Snead<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/cole-spieker\/166940\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Cole Spieker\">Cole Spieker<\/a> and Austin Mack if Montreal has a chance.<\/p>\n<p>If <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/davis-alexander\/165844\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Davis Alexander\">Davis Alexander<\/a> has a huge day passing, never say never, but I just don\u2019t know how you try to eliminate the seemingly endless collection of threats from the Tiger-Cats receiver room.<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: HAMILTON TIGER-CATS<\/p>\n<p>OFFENSIVE LINE<br \/>\n<img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2778935\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2778935 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Ticats_Oline_2025-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2778935\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Can the Tiger-Cats O-line help keep Mitchell protected and open gaps for the run game? (Simon Prelle\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p>The two clubs in question are seventh and eighth in average rushing yards per game, while sitting second and fourth in sacks allowed, with a minuscule difference of just one.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s as close as can be between these units, but if the Hamilton crowd plays their role properly, perhaps a couple of free yards can be obtained for the Tiger-Cats defence as lineman jump the snap.<\/p>\n<p>Give me Hamilton in a close one.<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: HAMILTON TIGER-CATS<\/p>\n<p>DEFENSIVE LINE<br \/>\n<img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2777269\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2777269 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Isaac_Adeyemi-Berglund_2025_005.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2777269\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund tallied four tackles, a sack, a fumble recovery and two forced fumbles in last week\u2019s Eastern Semi-Final (David Kirouac\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p>The Alouettes are tied for the CFL lead with 45 sacks in the regular season.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/isaac-adeyemi-berglund\/165728\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund\">Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund<\/a> has been special again this year alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/lwal-uguak\/167924\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Lwal Uguak\">Lwal Uguak<\/a>\u2019s great sense of time, space and quarterback rhythms. (Christian Bender\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p>The Tiger-Cats secondary leads the CFL in interceptions this season with 27 to Montreal\u2019s 18, while Hamilton has a 72-58 regular season advantage in passes knocked down.<\/p>\n<p>The back end, organized by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/stavros-katsantonis\/165761\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Stavros Katsantonis\">Stavros Katsantonis<\/a>, has been severely upgraded since last year with defensive coordinator Brent Monson calling the shots and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/dashaun-amos\/163933\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"DaShaun Amos\">DaShaun Amos<\/a> patrolling the field side halfback position.<\/p>\n<p>The question now becomes: can the talented Tiger-Cats back end pick off <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/davis-alexander\/165844\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Davis Alexander\">Davis Alexander<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: HAMILTON TIGER-CATS<\/p>\n<p>KICKERS<br \/>\n<img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2755658\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2755658 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Marc_Liegghio_2025_01-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2755658\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">How much will Marc Liegghio be relied upon in the Eastern Final? Jos\u00e9 Maltos-Diaz stands alone in Alouettes history with 58 field goals made this season, and stands behind only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/lirim-hajrullahu\/160189\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Lirim Hajrullahu\">Lirim Hajrullahu<\/a>\u2019s ridiculous dozen field goals made of 50 yards or more.<\/p>\n<p>The kicking battle is between two of the absolute best in 2025, and they could swap kicks that take the lead down the stretch with both entering this monumental Eastern Final with maximum confidence.<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: TOSS UP<\/p>\n<p>RETURNERS<br \/>\n<img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2730825\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-2730825 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Alexandre_Gagne_2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2043\" height=\"1152\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-2730825\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Alexander Gagn\u00e9 was second in the regular season in special teams tackles (25) behind his teammate Tyrell Richards (30) (David Kirouac\/CFL.ca)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/isaiah-wooden\/168471\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Isaiah Wooden\">Isaiah Wooden<\/a> has a CFL-high punt return average (15.0) and the Alouettes return game has largely been a non-factor, but here\u2019s the catch: punter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/joseph-zema\/166173\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Joseph Zema\">Joseph Zema<\/a> and cover men <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/tyrell-richards\/166973\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks - Article\" data-ga-action=\"article-player-link\" data-ga-opt-label=\"Tyrell Richards\">Tyrell Richards<\/a> alongside Alexandre Gagn\u00e9 and co. give opposing returners next to NOTHING.<\/p>\n<p>All it takes is one burst from Montreal to flip this all-important matchup to their advantage, but if Montreal can largely negate Trey Vaval, why would anyone believe they won\u2019t do the same to Hamilton?<\/p>\n<p>ADVANTAGE: MONTREAL ALOUETTES<\/p>\n<p>IN SUMMARY<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton SHOULD win based on the tale of the tape, head-to-head matchups this season, and playing fresh off the bye, but how many times have we said that deep in the playoffs with the Tiger-Cats only to see a stunner take place?<\/p>\n<p>I think this Hamilton group is different when led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cfl.ca\/players\/bo-levi-mitchell\/158222\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-ga-category=\"Clicks -
