Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet is a finalist for the American League Cy Young Award and outfielder Roman Anthony is in the running for Rookie of the Year. <\/p>\n

Crochet is joined by reigning AL winner Tarik Skubal of Detroit and Houston Astros right-hander Hunter Brown as finalists for Cy Young. The winners will be announced next week. <\/p>\n

Anthony is a finalist along with the Athletics duo of Nick Kurtz and Jacob Wilson. <\/p>\n

Los Angeles Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani and New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge are in the running for consecutive MVP awards.<\/p>\n

Ohtani joined Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber and New York Mets outfielder Juan Soto as finalists for the NL honor. Judge, Seattle Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh and Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jos\u00e9 Ram\u00edrez are in the mix for AL MVP.<\/p>\n

Skubal, Cleveland manager Stephen Vogt and Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy also could be repeat winners when the results are announced next week.<\/p>\n

Brown secured an extra selection for Houston after the first round in next year\u2019s amateur draft under the collective bargaining agreement\u2019s prospect promotion incentive. He earned the pick because he was among the top 100 prospects from at least two of Baseball America, ESPN and MLB.com heading into the 2023 season, accrued a full season of service in his rookie season and had a top three finish in Cy Young voting before he became arbitration eligible.<\/p>\n

Crochet, in his first season with the Red Sox, went 18-5 with a 2.59 ERA. He lead the American League with 205 1\/3 innings and 255 strikeouts. <\/p>\n

Anthony played 71 games for Boston after his call-up June 9. His season ended early due to an oblique injury. He finished with .292 batting average. .396 on-base percentage and .463 slugging percentage. <\/p>\n

Kurtz hit .290 with 36 homers and 86 RBI in 117 games for the A\u2019s, and Wilson batted .311 in 125 games.<\/p>\n

Ohtani is going for his second MVP award with the Dodgers and his fourth overall. He also won with the Angels in 2021 and 2023. Judge is trying for his third MVP win \u2014 all with the Yankees.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old Ohtani hit .282 with 55 homers and 102 RBI in 158 games this year, helping the Dodgers win\u00a0a second straight World Series championship. The Japanese right-hander also went 1-1 with a 2.87 ERA in 14 starts in his return to the mound following a second major elbow surgery.<\/p>\n

The 33-year-old Judge batted .331 with 53 homers, 114 RBI and a major league-leading 1.145 OPS in 152 games with New York. He also was voted MVP in 2022.<\/p>\n

While Ram\u00edrez was terrific once again, the AL MVP race is expected to come down to Judge and Raleigh, a switch-hitting catcher who led the majors with 60 homers for Seattle during the regular season.<\/p>\n

The top three finishers in voting for each of the major individual awards presented annually by the Baseball Writers\u2019 Association of America were announced Monday night on MLB Network. Balloting is conducted before the postseason.<\/p>\n

World Series MVP\u00a0Yoshinobu Yamamoto\u00a0of the Dodgers is a finalist for the NL Cy Young along with Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes and Phillies left-hander Cristopher S\u00e1nchez. Skenes was the NL Rookie of the Year in 2024.<\/p>\n

Atlanta Braves catcher Drake Baldwin, Chicago Cubs pitcher Cade Horton and Brewers infielder Caleb Durbin are competing for top NL rookie this time around.<\/p>\n

Vogt was joined by Toronto\u2019s John Schneider and Seattle\u2019s Dan Wilson as finalists for AL Manager of the Year.
