Bailey came to global prominence for his breakout role on Netflix\u2019s bodice-ripping period drama hit Bridgerton. Since then, he has graduated on to become a movie star, appearing in mainstream blockbusters like Jurassic World Rebirth, Wicked and the upcoming Wicked: For Good.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBailey succeeds John Krasinski as People\u2018s Sexiest Man Alive. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tOn hearing the news that he had taken the title, Bailey told People, \u201cI mean, it\u2019s a huge honor. Obviously, I\u2019m incredibly flattered. And it\u2019s completely absurd.\u201d He added, \u201cI\u2019m quite excited for some friends and family to find out.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tHailing from Oxfordshire, England, Bailey started as a child actor in the U.K., graduating to become an acclaimed theater performer for the likes of the Royal Shakespeare Company and productions on London\u2019s West End. His big TV break came with starring in ITV\u2019s hit whodunnit murder drama Broadchurch and later nabbed the role of Lord Anthony Bridgerton in the Shonda Rhimes-produced Netflix Regency drama Bridgerton. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tBailey is opening gay, and his other TV credits include the critically acclaimed gay dramas Fellow Travelers and Heartstopper. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/  a-font-body-m     \">\n\tAs well as Krasinski in 2024, past recipients of People\u2018s Sexiest Man Alive title include Chris Evans, John Legend, Michael B.
