Choosing to live with her in-laws<\/p>\n

In conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Sonakshi said, “Zaheer had asked me before marriage if I wanted to live separately from my in-laws, but I said no. I told him, \u2018I’ll live with them; if you want to go, you go.”<\/p>\n

On not knowing how to cook<\/p>\n

Elaborating further, she added, “I don’t cook at all. My mother cooks so well, and her only problem is that her daughter doesn’t know how to cook. My mother-in-law also doesn’t know how to cook, and she says that you got married in the correct house. She said, \u2018Don’t worry, tu sahi ghar pe aayi hai (you’ve come to the right house)’. I’m fond of eating, but not cooking.” She continued, “They’re all very chill, and they have a lot of fun together. It’s a very close-knit family.”<\/p>\n

On religion and mutual respect<\/p>\n

In conversation with The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra, Sonakshi spoke about whether religion has ever come in between their relationship. She said, \u201cIn how we are as a couple, no. In how we are at home, in terms of the different ways that we\u2019ve been brought up in, there are certain customs that he and his family follow, which I really respect, and there are certain customs that me and my family follow, which they respect. Religion is something that will never come in between the two of us. There\u2019s never been any question, fight, or tension when it comes to that, and I think that\u2019s the most beautiful part of it. Our strength lies in respect.”<\/p>\n

Zaheer\u2019s bond with Shatrughan and Poonam Sinha<\/p>\n

Talking about Zaheer’s bond with her parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, the actress added, “Everyone runs helter-skelter when he comes, saying \u2018Zaheer aa rahe hai, damad ji aa rahe hai.\u2019 My mom keeps asking kya khayega, kya khayega, and my dad loves spending time with him. I think they\u2019ve become really good friends.
