Guillermo Del Toro Just Compared Jacob Elordi To These Hollywood Icons, And Points Were Made<\/p>\n
If you\u2019ve been to the cinema lately, you\u2019ll know that Jacob Elordi<\/a> is one of Hollywood\u2019s men of the moment.<\/p>\n Well, when we spoke to Guillermo Del Toro about Jacob in Frankenstein, and he was all compliments.<\/p>\n Reflecting on the filming process, Guillermo shared that he learned from all the Frankenstein cast members, telling us, \u201cEach of them was a teacher.\u201d<\/p>\n He went on to draw some impressive comparisons between Jacob and two very legendary old Hollywood icons.<\/p>\n \u201cJacob: two takes and he was out. He is Gary Cooper, but he’s also Marlon Brando<\/a>,\u201d Guillermo said, \u201cHe’s an incredible actor.\u201d<\/p>\n Considered one of the greatest film actors of the 20th century, Marlon Brando is often credited with popularising method acting; he was known for drawing on personal memories and real emotions<\/a> to bring his characters to life.<\/p>\n Gary Cooper, who began his career as a Western hero and went on to dominate the silver screen throughout the \u201830s and \u201840s, was said to approach his craft with a naturalistic, subtle touch.<\/p>\n Looking at Jacob\u2019s performances \u2013 from Priscilla to Euphoria<\/a> \u2013 it\u2019s clear to see why Guillermo would draw those comparisons; playing turbulent, complex characters with so much nuance and depth, many of his previous co-stars have praised him for his range.<\/p>\n Jacob has previously described his approach to his work as \u201copen,\u201d and Guillermo previously shared<\/a> that it was his performance that made him choose him as his creature, saying, “Jacob\u2019s eyes are so full of humanity\u2026 I saw Saltburn<\/a>, and I loved his innocence and openness.\u201d<\/p>\n So there you have it: Jacob\u2019s a man who can do it all, old Hollywood legend.
