New McIntyre mural brings smiles to passersby<\/a><\/p>\nElliot moved to North Bay in 2018 to attend Nipissing University and has never left.\u00a0 He believes the mural brings the beauty of the waterfront downtown.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I think there’s a lot of wonder to be found when you’re driving out to the waterfront,” he said.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I was going down to the waterfront myself the other day, and there were beautiful skies, and here I’ve depicted some rainy skies, but I think it’s important to be reminded of the various conditions of our lives and to find the subtle reminders of beauty through every part of it.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
Neighbours are thrilled with the transformation from an eyesore building to a beautiful mural.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It brings brightness, colour, art, and makes us smile,” said one man who resides two doors down on Regina Street.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“So we’re very pleased with it.”<\/p>\n
Clean, Green, Beautiful\u00a0sponsored a new mural.<\/p>\n
The project was led by CGB Mural Lead, Tom Richardson, with artwork being completed by\u00a0Elliot.<\/p>\n
Harriet Madigan, founder of Clean Green Beautiful, has been thrilled to hear\u00a0the positive feedback the new wall of art is getting.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“I was reading on social media, and there are no negative comments about the mural,” she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It tells me that the community wants to feel that this makes people happy, makes people feel at home. It’s going to create a connection between neighbours.
