\n Having initially aimed to start work in September, the project will now begin on Monday (November 10).\n<\/p>\n
\n Work will take place in two phases to ensure the gym – located in Peace Prospect, just off Hempstead Road – never has to fully close, with one half shutting at a time.\n<\/p>\n
\n Phase one will take place between November and January, with the installation of new gym equipment beginning on November 12.\n<\/p>\n

\n The new area will open on January 15 and the other half of the gym will close that day.\n<\/p>\n
\n Work is expected to be complete on February 27, when the whole new-look facility will be open.\n<\/p>\n

\n Once complete, it will offer a mind and body studio, a multi-purpose fitness studio, and a spin studio featuring 30 Keiser bikes allowing for a wider variety of group exercises.\n<\/p>\n
\n The main gym will more than double in size from 70 to 120 stations, offering the latest Life Fitness equipment.\n<\/p>\n
\n Every area \u201cfrom functional training and free weights to resistance and cardio\u201d is set to be expanded and improved.\n<\/p>\n
\n The project is funded by Watford Borough Council\u00a0\u2013\u00a0contributing up to \u00a32.5 million\u00a0\u2013\u00a0and Everyone Active\u00a0\u2013\u00a0putting in approximately \u00a3560,000.\n<\/p>\n
