Photos via University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF)<\/p>\n<p>University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) has announced a new gifting campaign in time for holiday planning, and one that will \u201cstrengthen local health care,\u201d the organization said.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, UHKF, the fundraising arm of the Kingston hospitals serving much of eastern Ontario, launched \u201ca landmark Double Your Donation Matching Gift Challenge\u201d alongside Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care.<\/p>\n<p>According to UHKF, \u201ca group of generous Angel Donors who wish to remain anonymous\u201d have committed to matching every dollar donated to the organization up to $100,000. The campaign will run from Monday, Nov. 3 to Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, and donations will be shared between KHSC and Providence Care \u201cto support the most pressing needs across the two organizations,\u201d UHKF said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>The organization explained \u201cevery gift becomes two\u201d \u2013 that a donation of $1 will be matched by the Angel Donors, bringing that donation up to $2, a donation of $5 would be doubled to a gift of $10, etc. The financial support will help ensure that \u201ccare close to home remains strong, responsive, and innovative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UHKF President Tom Zsolnay explained why the campaign made possible by the Angel Donors is so significant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat an incredible opportunity these Angel Donors have created \u2013 it\u2019s a call to the community to rally, to multiply their impact, inspiring the entire community to give, and helping ensure our hospitals continue to have what they need to provide compassionate, world-class care right here at home,\u201d Zsolnay said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>That opportunity is particularly important right now, UHKF explained, noting that \u201clocal health care is at a pivotal moment.\u201d The organization said that KHSC and Providence Care face \u201cevolving demands\u201d such as growing patient volumes, patients with more complex needs, and the need for new technologies, \u201call while remaining accountable to the community that they serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKHSC has grown through the vision and generosity of our community, and this partnership has never mattered more,\u201d KHSC President and CEO David Pichora stated in the release.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we prepare for the next generation of care \u2013 through new technologies, modern facilities and advanced treatments \u2013 this matching challenge helps turn community support into real progress for patients across our region. I\u2019m very grateful to the Angel Donors and all who are investing in the future of care at KHSC.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining their anonymity, UHKF said that the Angel Donors are \u201ca group of dedicated community leaders\u201d who are \u201cunited by their belief that healing should always live close to home.\u201d The organization said that the generosity of the Angel Donors \u201creflects a shared conviction that strong hospitals and health-care sites build strong communities, and that when neighbours unite behind a common cause, we can create lasting change.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Providence Care, we see firsthand how community generosity transforms lives,\u201d Providence Care President and CEO Cathy Szabo said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis matching challenge strengthens the very foundation of care: equipment, staff support, innovation \u2013 and it does so where it matters most, in our own community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>UHKF said that those wishing to participate in the campaign \u2013 therefore having their donation to local health care doubled \u2013 can contribute one-time or recurring gifts through their website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uhkf.ca\/give\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">www.uhkf.ca\/give<\/a>.
