Boho queen Dakota Johnson<\/a> fronted the cover of Vogue Germany this month and shared all her beauty secrets. Yes, that includes all the details behind her famous mane.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’ve had bangs since I was a child,\u201d Johnson told Vogue. \u201cI cut them myself.\u201d That was the birth of a signature look\u2014and a fun habit\u2014though obviously she didn\u2019t know either at the age of four. \u201cI\u2019ve had the same haircut my entire life, apart from between the ages of about 10 and 14,\u201d she adds. \u201cI just feel like myself with bangs.\u201d<\/p>\n

So much so that she always has a pair of scissors on hand. \u201cI would love to do without having to trim it all the time,\u201d Johnson says. It\u2019s a classic complaint of most people with bangs. But the actor has come up with a semi-pragmatic\u2014and certainly adventurous\u2014solution. \u201cI always travel with scissors and love to drink a martini while trimming my own bangs.\u201d When asked if this has ever gone wrong, she answers honestly: \u201cOh yes. Not every time, but yes.\u201d<\/p>\n

But it\u2019s not just Johnson\u2019s bangs that are her signature\u2014it\u2019s her healthy, shiny hair, too. \u201cMy hair and nails grow quickly. I think it just has to do with what you do on the inside. I eat very healthily, drink lots of water, and don\u2019t do too much to my hair.\u201d One thing she does love, though, is a hair serum<\/a> to help with growth<\/a>. \u201cThere are a few that I really like, for example, one from Crown Affair.<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n

Otherwise, she keeps her styling very simple: \u201cI don\u2019t use any styling products and let my hair air dry.\u201d When she’s filming a movie or making a big appearance, it\u2019s a different story, of course. \u201cFor red carpet events, I usually work with hair stylists Mark Townsend<\/a> or George Northwood<\/a>. They take really good care of my hair.\u201d<\/p>\n
