Mot\u00f6rhead<\/a> leader Lemmy Kilmister once got so upset about losing an argument that he rammed a cheeseburger into a studio desk.<\/p>\n

Guitarist Phil Campbell, who played in Mot\u00f6rhead alongside Kilmister for 23 years, makes the revelation in a new interview with Metal Hammer.<\/p>\n

The falling-out was between Mot\u00f6rhead\u2019s then-members \u2013 Kilmister, Campbell and drummer Mikkey Dee \u2013 and happened at Los Angeles recording facility A&M Studios, with producer Howard Benson present.<\/p>\n

\u201cMe, Lem and Mikkey ended up arguing about something,\u201d Campbell remembers. \u201cHoward said, \u2018I can settle this for you now, I\u2019ve been recording the last 20 minutes.\u2019 It turns out Lem was wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer\/bassist didn\u2019t take his loss very well.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was eating this cheeseburger,\u201d Campbell continues, \u201cand he suddenly rammed it into the mixing desk, getting all this cheese and lettuce gummed up into this $2,000,000 [\u00a31,535,010] desk. Poor Howard, he had to call out and say, \u2018Can we get a repair man? Lemmy from Mot\u00f6rhead\u2019s just trashed our desk with a cheeseburger.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Campbell tells Hammer that Kilmister, who founded Mot\u00f6rhead in 1975 and passed away in 2015, was \u201calways very polite to people\u201d but didn\u2019t suffer fools gladly.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe was a gentleman 99% of the time,\u201d he says, \u201cuntil something pissed him off and then he\u2019d fight for his rights. You could only push him so far. He couldn\u2019t stand to be surrounded by idiots.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dee goes a step further when talking about his ex-bandmate\u2019s temper, saying, \u201cSometimes he was a little fuckin\u2019 girl, if he was screaming at us about nothing.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds: \u201cBut we would scream right back! We had great arguments, in such a friendly way. Like a family should have. There was never any pissing or moaning \u2013 there was never trash talk behind anyone\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kilmister died on December 28, 2015: four days after his 70th birthday and two after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. Campbell and Dee announced shortly afterwards that Mot\u00f6rhead would not continue without the band\u2019s founder. Campbell went on to launch Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons, while Dee joined German hard rockers Scorpions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This May, a statue of Kilmister was erected in his birthplace of Burslem, Stoke-On-Trent<\/a>. Stoke-On-Trent Lord Mayor Lyn Sharpe appeared at the unveiling and said, \u201cLemmy was one of us.\u201d<\/p>\n

A punk rock<\/a> Mot\u00f6rhead tribute album, Killed By Deaf<\/a>, came out last week.
